thoughts on that? IMO i woulda done a Kennedy, Melky + 1 other Like Marquez, and not even balked at it.

If this report is true and the yankees turned down Santana for that list of Prospects. I think that is a bad decision on the behalf of Little Stein's and Cashman.

Thoughts?

Please tell me Cashman didn't reject a deal for Santana just because of Ian Kennedy and Melky Cabrera.

Cashman is losing it.

I wonder who that prospect is. If the third prospect is someone like a Tabata or Jackson, maybe Cashman sees something there. It really is funny how far the Twins fell, at one point they were getting Hughes, Melky, Marquez/Horne and a prospect and now they were begging to get Ian Kennedy, Melky and a prospect. Not sure if I believe it though. -Jitpal

Does anyone want to see Damon in CF again? Hell no. That and the fact that Santana had a subpar second half of last year does not make this a slam dunk. For all we know, Hughes could have a better year next year than Santana, they blew it when thye turned him down. And Kennedy is just a winner. That kid knows how to win. I'm hoping they find someone to take Mussina off our hands and we go with the 3 kids in the rotation.

I also think they should have acceptred the Elsbury trade from Boston, that kid scares me.

If this is true, I'm pretty angry at Brian Cashman. I mean we can give 26 million for 1/4 of a season for Clemens, but we can't pay Johan Santana 20 million annually? Give me a break.

The Twins came back and asked for Hughes, Kennedy, Melky...the Yanks said Hughes is off the table so the Twins asked for Wang, Kennedy, and another prospect (not sure who). Thank you Cashman.

Somehow a guy with 38 wins in the last two seasons is only making $4.5 mill a year........
