Ewww. Awful draft for the Niners. First of all why do we deal up to get a guy we could easily get at #11?

Then we'd probably take Willis in the first, a DE like Crowder in the 2nd, and then some combo of DT, WR, and OT later in the 3rd.

What happened to Arron Sears? He's the guy I was hoping would slip to Seattle at #55. Most mock drafts have him going somewhere in the second round and some even have him in the late first. You don't think he'll go on the first day?

Dang, you are right. I did forget Sears. I use Draftcountdown's rankings, but I looked at Ugoh's 40 time and height, and thought he might be a better player. Then I just went down the list, but forgot to go back and put in Sears. I'll edit that in right now, but I don't think to the Seahawks.

Darn, he's long gone under your new projection.

My team could do worse than Ben Patrick -- not exactly thrilling, but he'll fill a need, and since all the guys I had my eye on are already taken under your scenario, I guess I can live with it.

Guess I should comment on the third round as well. You have my team looking for O-line and that's probably a good guess if they've drafted Patrick. I might prefer the guy from Akron, Andy Alleman, with this pick; the bigger need is at guard (the tackles, Walter Jones and Sean Locklear, are locked into starting position) and Alleman seems like the kind of workhorse you stick in the middle.

But, hey, I'm nitpicking. I like your projection overall, think it's very realistic.

First of all, why would the lions trade with the cards? If the cards are just gonna get Joe thomas, they should stay where they are. The lions would probably trade with Tampa, tampa would get Calvin, Detroit would get Adams and the Cards would get Thomas. Second, why would San Fran trade up just to get Ted Ginn, he'd go to them anyway. Third the pats aren't gonna pass up Revis for Houston. Fourth Moss isn't gonna fall that much. Fifth Micheal Griffin won't go all the way to the 11th overall pick. Sixth the browns need a face of the franchise (which would be Quinn) more than they need OL so they wouldn't trade down, unless it was 1-2 picks. Seventh the Redskins wouldn't take Anderson when Okoye and Landry are there. Eighth there are a lot more things that I could point out but won't.

IMO, if Thomas is there when the Browns pick, they will take him. So the Cardinals NEED to trade up if they want him.

The Texans might have some interest in Ted Ginn to pair with Johnson. If the 49ers want Ginn, the safest thing to do would to trade up a spot with Houston and guarentee themselves getting Ginn.

I think I'm understanding this correctly, but you think Griffin will go before pick 11? Who would take him? There's another safety rated higher than him, in Landry.

I think the majority of Browns fans agree with me that our first need is going to be O-line until we bring in a true stud tackle. If Thomas is there when we pick, I really hope that we take him. (But Savage will screw up and pick Quinn - that's why I want us to trade down.) I like Quinn, but the Browns shouldn't be giving up on Frye this soon. They should give him another year.

only read to pick 11, but explain this one: 11.
Houston Texans (from San Francisco 49ers): Michael Griffin, S, Texas

Well, I figured that Griffin went to Texas, so that would go over well with the fans, and the Texans could definitly use help in the secondary.

Since they need secondary help, they would draft Leon Hall or trade farther down than 1 pick. The texas thing makes some sense, but there is no point drafting a guy about 14 picks before he's suppose to be drafted. Like I said, they might as well trade down to the pats pick at 28 or the chargers pick at 30 and get some more draft picks than wasting a pick that high.

First of all, since the browns sighned two real good guards they most likely think that they're good at the OLine and won't bother with Thomas. So thomas would go to the cards.

Second, the texans have Eric Moulds along Johnson, and as you said in the post after the one you posted, you said they need secondary help so the texans would have no interest in Ted Ginn.

Third, I didn't say Griffin would go before 11. The best he can go is 22.

Fourth, like I said before, the browns owner probably thinks he's good with the OLine so he won't draft thomas. The browns shouldn't give up on Frye, but they most likely will, especially when Quinn and Peterson is still on the board. They could be the face of the franchise.

Your mock is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!

The Cardinals have said NUMEROUS times that they would not move from the 5th pick UNLESS someone offered them a lucrative deal to trade down.

Tell me, when the hell was the last time a team traded up to draft an OFFENSIVE LINEMAN!?!

Absolutely HORRIBLE!

Do some research before you post this garbage on here.

You're welcome for my tough love :-D

the eagles traded up a couple years ago to draft shawn andrews, it certainly worked for them.

i dont get some of your trades though not many teams swap positions just to move up 1. only time i recall that was when the browns did it to take kellen winslow and the lions moved down 1 to get roy williams.

Leon Hall or Reggie Nelson would be smarter picks. If sentimentality didn't work for VY, then why would the Texans take that into account for Griffin?

p.s. - not every Texans fan is a UT fan.

Exactly! Griffin being drafted there, would make no sense! By the way, this mock is horrid!
