Most Likely 1st Rd. Pick?

Post#1 » by jviers77 » Fri Apr 27, 2007 7:42 pm

After listening to various 'experts' and putting my own 2 cents into the equation, I really think GB will stay away from RB with the #16 pick unless Adrian Peterson falls to them. Most likely, I could see them going after:

1)LaRon Landry, if he falls this far
2)Robert Meechum, a bit of a reach, they could trade down a few spots and still get him
3)Dwayne Jarrett, even more of a reach

I think there is enough RB talent that can be had in Rd.'s 2 & 3 that Lynch is not going to be enough of a value at #16 for them to take him. I like Lynch because of size and receiving skills, but I don't see him in GB.

Landry could go as high as #6 and no later than #8.

How after listening to experts do you come to that conclusion. If anything all the "experts" say we take Lynch. I seriously have not seen 1 mock draft not having us taking Lynch. nfldraftountdown, kiper, mcshay. Landrys going either 6,7,8 so count that one out. Meachem I guess I wouldnt mind but would rather have Nelson or Lynch

In Kiper I trust

Marshawn Lynch will be our first round pick is he is still there and we haven't traded the pick for LJ

If Landry is on the board when Atlanta picks, it's pretty much a given that he will be their pick. They're dieing at safety.

But I agree with SR34 in that I'm not sure how you listened to the "expects" and came to the conclusion that we'd pass on Lynch, because every mock draft on the planet has him as our pick. It's like last year all over again (AJ Hawk).

I'm really like Meachem and think he could be a great one, so I'm fine with that. I'm with DB in the thinking that if one of the DEs fall (Carriker, Anderson) that we should snatch them up. But I don't see that happening.

I still think Marshawn Lynch is the most likely.

I love Meachem, and while he's my preferred target at #16, I still truly think you'll see moss as a Packer (4th round pick + conditional '08 selection, maybe KGB included), so that would pretty much disqualify a round 1 WR. If that's the case, then...

1) Trade up for Peterson

2) Hope Anderson falls (not as high on Carricker) and take him, but htis is obviously very unlikely

3) Draft Lynch and trade for Moss

4) Trade down with Denver and select Nelson (hopefully he's there)

I would be on board with all 4 of those....it's really hard to predict where the Packers will be going with the entire Moss thing hanging in the air. If he weren't an option (or, let me rephrase, doesn't become an option on Draft day), then I think you'd (will) see Meachem or Ginn in round 1, or Davis/Rice in Round 2.

If we could get Lynch in round one and Davis/Rice in 2 OR Meachem/Ginn/Bowe in round 1 and Pittman in Round 2....I'd be very happy

GB won't sniff Landry at 16.
I see a trade of some sorts.

All I can say is that this time of year is better than the Super Bowl. So much speculation, so much doubt, so many "experts" ... it's like the day before drafting a fantasy football team ... except that it's real. :-)

I'm also finally in the "In TT we trust" camp ...

Have a great day tomorrow!

Personally, I see Randy Moss as good as here....so I don't see a WR in our first round future....however, we NEED a RB...but I don't know if Lynch is the right guy...

He is my pick for now, but I wouldn't mind seeing one of the solid DE fall to us.

I really would love to see GB trade down and acquire another first day pick because to me there is very little between #16 and possibly the mid third round, talent wise. If they stay at #16....I will throw in a wild card and say Daryl Reavis (spelling) would be that pick and I would be elated with him.
