Moss to the Pats?

Post#1 » by deep throat » Sun Apr 29, 2007 1:18 pm

Everything I have heard seems to indicate this is just about a done deal (for whatever that is worth). They paid pretty heavy to get Welker (+fat contract), then Donte Stallworth (+contract), Gafney, Caldwell, and 2nd round pick Chad Jackson should be back at some point. Besides this not seemingly a big need currently- how do they have cap space for Moss? He is going to cost around $10 million in 2007. I doubt he wants to restructure for less. The Pack has plenty of cap space. It's obvious Favre would like to add him and if we're drafting guys like Jones with our picks here it doesn't make any sense why Teddy wouldn't at least try and do that for Favre as a going away gift.

I checked to find the Pats current cap space and it appears to be between $3 and $6 mill. I think the difference is that the 2nd figure doesn't include the Assante Samuel Franchise tag money.

They also need to sign their rookies, or does the 3-6 mil cover that?

I don't see how they are going to do it, unless moss takes a HUGE pay cut, or they are trading a player with a larger deal for Moss.

Any word, do they have a high priced guy that they may be cutting soon?
