Anyone feel odd without Revis at camp?
Jets are known for always getting their top picks signed on time for camp, however this year Revis is prepared for a long holdout. Its sucks because he really had a chance to win the top spot for our team, or at least starting. I honestly pray that this holdout dont put him in the doghouse of Mangini right off the bat.

There are rumors that he might sit out the season and re-enter next season's draft.
I'm not holding my breath but it's still a possibility.
The holdup is that Revis wants to sign a 5 year contract but the Jets want him in New York with a 6 year contract.
Considering almost all the other 1st Rounders have signed 5 year contracts, it looks like Revis has the upper-hand in negotiations.

Yeah the thing I dont get is the pick before and after him have signed five year contracts already. So that hammers out the amount of money he gets and I dont see why we are being so stubborn for that extra year. Sure its more cap friendly but the Jets need this guy.
Also reports are Mangini is already getting irked by his holdout...

Yeah, but it would be silly of him to sit out a year, lose a years salary only to sign a five year deal next year.
I want to see him in camp this week.

so the kid is signed now and just showed up at camp. they showed an interview with him at training camp on mike'd up last night, he was saying he's "rusty" and still getting used to working out in pads, something he hasn't done since college.
I wish him luck competng for the job, our current corners aren't TOO shabby and have been working out for the past couple of weeks.
