Longtime Dallas Cowboys vice president of player personnel Gil Brandt said he extended an offer last week to help Falcons owner Arthur Blank with the search for a new head coach or general manager.
"I just said that I was available to help him with anything he might need," Brandt said.
Blank was cordial and gracious, Brandt said, but that was the last of their conversations.
Blank has established a three-man team to find a head coach and general manager. Blank, president/general manager Rich McKay and former New York Giants GM Ernie Accorsi, a consultant, are examining potential candidates and are expected to begin setting up interviews early this week.
While Blank said he plans to hire a general manager first before hiring a coach, both searches are taking place simultaneously.
