Clemens is the probably the default starter next year. I don't think Penny will be back. But, I don't think that highly of Clemens. Maybe I'm looking too much at his stats, cause he did engineer a couple wins.
You guys like Clemens or do you want someone else to get the spot soon?

QB next year
Bill Clinton slept with an intern. A consenting adult and he got impeached and nearly disbarred as a result. Donald Trump went to parties showcasing underaged women brought in as basically prostitutes, and he says it's nothing.
Double standard?

I actually do like Clemens but he is going to be horrible next year. We are probably going to have three new starters on the offensive line, they were just pathetic this year. Its hard to evaluate a QB when your O-line sucks. Pennington without a doubt is going to be gone, so Im fully expecting to sign a free agent backup for insurance purposes.
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.

eagles are at the endof the cliff with mcnabb they just need a big push to let him go .....why for the jets.... at the beggining of the year we were the best team in NY.a move of this magnitude would help us out of our step child relationship with the media for 3 seasons use cap space to grab number 85 and we got a good bandaid

I don't think Clemens will be a very good pro, but because there is no top flight QB in the draft, I say stick him in there for another year. I see this only having two possible outcomes. The first being, the Jets have great improvmant and he solidifies his position as the franchise QB or they don't and they still lose lots of games, and then we get a high pick to draft Tim Tebow.

The Jets need a franchise QB...we haven't had one in a while (Pennington was the closest to that). Without a franchise QB (and a stronger Offensive Line), the Jets are going to be a .500 team for another 10 years.
Look at the Giants: Eli Manning was the best QB during the playoffs and I think he is gotta be one of the best right now. They have a great defense and were able to win the Super Bowl. We need the same thing!

Before we can judge Clemens we should realize that our main problem last year as the offensive line. Outside of Mangold and at times Ferguson we only got a couple of backups and journeymen playing there. Clarke was atrocious. You can have Dan Mariono, Kellens Clemens or any other QB behind that line, you won't be very successful if the QB doesn't have any time to throw.
Then there is our WR core. Outside of Cotchery we could stand a huge upgrade here. Coles was injured a lot and might be breaking down. McCareins and Smith cost us a few games with their drops alone. Smith is a trick/situational player but not a legit 3rd WR.
Just look how long it took Eli Manning to come into his own despite having great skill players and a solid Oline in front of him. Clemens deserves atleast a full season and a season with a proper supporting cast to show what he can do...

Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies...

Well, last year the Bears went to the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman and Peyton Manning played awful in the playoffs. Yet the Colts still won.
What I'm trying to say is that you need a solid, pretty good QB to win if you are great in other areas. Yet we should never forget that a QB is exchangable if you have the right system and the right supporting cast.
