Tapeh has signed a deal with the Minnesota Viking.

Unrestricted free agent fullback Thomas Tapeh has agreed to terms on a contract with the Minnesota Vikings, according to the Vikings web site.
However, the Eagles were prepared to move on without Tapeh. They have Jason Davis, whom Tapeh beat out for the starter's job in 2007, on the roster. That the Eagles let Tapeh become an unrestricted free agent is telling.
In 2006, Tapeh set career highs in receptions with 16 for 85 yards. He played in seven games during his rookie season, mostly on special teams, before he dislocated his hip against St. Louis. It was an injury that took an arduous rehab which lasted through the 2005 season.

Lions trade Shaun Rogers to Browns; not Bengals.

The Lions had a deal with the Bengals for third- and fifth-round draft picks. They confirmed it. The Bengals didn't, though their official Web site reported it, as did numerous media outlets.
But the trade did not go through -- why it didn't remains unclear -- and the Lions reached a deal with Cleveland for a third-round pick and cornerback Leigh Bodden, a source said.
Bodden, a 26-year-old, five-year veteran, started 16 games last year and made six interceptions. Bodden is signed for two more seasons with base salaries of $1.7 million and $1.8 million.

Anderson threw 29 touchdown passes and 19 interceptions last season and went 10-5 after taking over as the starter in Week 2. He made the Pro Bowl as an alternate.

The Carolina Panthers traded three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kris Jenkins to the New York Jets on Friday for third- and fifth-round draft picks.
The Jets then came to terms with Jenkins on a new five-year contract worth $35 million, including $20 million in guaranteed money.
At 6-foot-4 and listed at 349 pounds, Jenkins could move to nose tackle in the Jets' 3-4 defensive scheme.

Panthers cut Carr, return Muhammed.

Carr was released a year after he signed a $6 million, two-year deal with the Panthers following a five-year stint as a starter in Houston. But Carr struggled so much when he took over for the injured Jake Delhomme last season that he was eventually demoted to third-string.
"I did talk to Steve and he felt like he needs another complement on the other side of him," Muhammad said at a news conference. "He kind of coerced me into coming back. He welcomed me back with open arms. ... We're excited about playing again with each other. We've always maintained our friendship outside of football."
Carr's release is no surprise. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2002 draft, he was thought to be a significant upgrade over Chris Weinke as Carolina's No. 2 QB. But Carr had a disastrous season after he took over as the starter in Week 3, when Delhomme had a season-ending right elbow injury.
