With all the talk about our linebackers wanting more money and the weaknesses of our skilled positions, we are forgetting about Greg Olsen.
This guy is more than we saw last year.
This guy has speed, can catch like a WR, and has the athletic ability that scouts drool over.
Lets take a closer look at his skills:
-Equal or close to equal speed to the majority of defensive backs
-Better catching ability than most average WRs
-Bigger than most linebackers
-Faster than most linebackers
-His athletic ability is supreme for the league, let alone his own position
-He turns 23 in two weeks.
-(most significantly) We didn't have a good/consistent QB he could build chemistry with.
Having said all that, can he be our Antonio Gates?
The Chargers have options at WR, but none of them come close to how significant Gates' is in their offense.
I like the upside of this guy, and I think we are forgetting about him.
Can Olsen be Gates' like?

As I said elsewhere, I sure would think they'd be focusing on him more this year especially given the hit the WR corps took. I know...every year we say the Bears are going to scheme more to include the TE. I just may believe it if they say it this year.
There's no excuse to exclude Olsen now. He's got all the tools.
