Alexander has been healing from wrist surgery, but he could visit other teams until the wrist has healed. In free agency, Seattle signed Julius Jones and T.J. Duckett to replace him. Before a release, a player normally has an exit physical. Once he passes that physical, the team can terminate his contract.

I know a lot of people hate on Alexander, but I think we should show our respect to one of the best to ever put on a seahawks uniform, and an all around great person.

He's done here. I would be shocked if he was on the opening day roster. I wish I didn't have such mixed feelings about Alexander the RB. It's so strange to say such a thing about a RB who well might be a HOFer.

there was an insider article on ESPN.com about SA, I couldn't read it all, but this blurb sums up my feelings.

Even at his best, Alexander was a patient and smart runner who relied on a very good burst and excellent vision. But Alexander was never an athletic marvel and certainly didn't have a problem with ducking out of bounds instead of fighting for extra yardage. Now, he is a dancer who lacks the burst and power he once had. His legs die on contact, he isn't elusive or dynamic and simply cannot gain yardage on his own, nor does he fight for yardage with conviction when there is little room to run.

Behind a great offensive line, SA maybe has 1-2 productive years left, but behind an average, or even above average one, he's just not going to cut it. I don't know where our line stands, with the new OL coach, and the addition of Wahle, but I don't think it's going to be great...

Nah, stick a fork in him. I'm not even sure if there is a role in this league for him anymore. It's pretty clear from watching him over the last year that he's not a starter. Could he be a backup? I have a hard time seeing it. Good backups tend to have one special attribute that stands out -- they can be lightning fast or goal-line guys or great receivers or blockers. Alexander is none of those things. He's a full-time "generalist" RB who isn't good enough for the job anymore.

If he gets a job somewhere else, it will likely wind up resembling the Emmitt Smith with the Cardinals era. Nobody wants to see that.

Keep it. It might seem outdated now, but in 5 or 10 years it will be retro-cool. If I see someone in a #45 Ken Easley or #96 Cortez Kennedy jersey, I'm really impressed. Alexander is of the same stature.
