This might sound rude.....but what would you expect him to say..."I think we can make the playoffs, or at least I hope to".

Do the Leafs have a chance at winning the cup....right now...everybody has an equal shot.....in APRIL....that depends on injuries IMO...it's all about injuries IMO. If they stay healthy, I think they're a top 6 team in the East...if they're hurt, they're a top 11 team.

so your telling me the Leafs have as much chance at winning the cup as teams like Det, Ana, Ott and San Jose, just because its the start of the season?

Did Carolina? ....how about Edmonton when they went to the finals?

The thing I've learned about sports is, don't count anyone, or anything out. Everyone has an equal shot at anything. Will the Leafs win the cup? There's an extremely slim chance. Is it impossible? No.

so by this logic the Phoenix Coyotes have as much chance of winning the cup next year as the Ottawa senators. No one said anythings impossible, but that doesnt mean the a team that finished in the cellar (pick one Phx, Edm, CLB) have a equal shot at the cup that a team like Det, Ana, SJS or OTT does.

It's not the hard to get your head wrapped around the notion. Everybody starts out at 0 pts. Elite teams like OTT/NYR/DET/ANA/SJ could all run into injuries or something and possibly miss the playoffs. Or they could have a WASH Wizards thing where the star players get injured just before the playoffs begin.

In hockey, or any major sports, you never know what will happen in the season or playoffs for that matter.

Do the Leafs stand a chance at winning it all...yes...but do I think they will....nope.

Anything can happen in sports yes, that doesnt mean every team starts the season off with the same odds at winning a championship as the other 29 or so teams in the league. If that was the case a team with no talent like the Coyotes, would have as good of a chance at winning it all as the Redwings because in your scenario anything can happen and teams could get injuries. What you should have said is every team has a shot at the cup when the season starts, not every team has the same odds/chance at the cup as there 29 opponents.

sure a team like OTT could run into injuries, but this doesnt change the fact that even before one game is played the PHX Coyotes DONT have as much of a chance at the cup as the Sens do.
