Why change it? Now there is no quick reply and it's harder to tell when there's a response.
if it ain't broken don't fix it.

Re: Horrible job
I mean, I don't particularly like it but these guys worked like all day to fix this and you didn't do any of it. So can't you just tell them what you don't like about it in a nice manner? I mean, they worked hard on this. It may not be great but they really worked hard on this.

Re: Horrible job
The old layout was a lot better than this.
It looked more organized and everything.
Appreciate that you tried to make the board better but IMO I think most RealGMers would prefer the old layout.

This layout is a lot better/nicer but they do need to fix the quick post, quoting, and read/unread.

Re: Horrible job
I think many of the new features are ones people will really love...it just takes some getting used to. The look/feel of it, a lot of that is a matter of familiarity, and in a month people won't even notice it.
There are a couple of real issues, well covered (quote visibility, pm's, submit, arguably quick reply) but for the most part, I think people will love a lot of the stuff we can do now and couldn't do before.
Give it a chance.
Additionally, as someone else said, even if your reaction is as stated in the OP, would you like someone who doesn't like the way you did something to express it as you did here? People worked hard on this...if you're not willing to give it a chance...and that's perfectly within your discretion...you could at least express your criticism in a more constructive, sensitive manner. Dunno what your job is, but whatever it is, I doubt you'd respond well to people saying 'horrible job' when you try something new.
My two cents, anyways.

Well, among others things...dunno if this is just for mods...but I can see all the posters as they sit at their computers.
That reminds me, put some clothes on, willya?
But just a lot of things...it's easier to do a lot, you can jump between specific forums without having to go through intermediary links, there are more of these

I agree the quotes thing needs to be improved, I agree that the quick reply thing was important, and I agree the new looks seems a little off and cramped, but I think if they can increase the contrast just a tad, that will be fine.
But overall, give it a chance, I'll bet it grows on you. Like that fungus on your chest. Yech, take a shower before you sign on next time.

I really don't like the new layout. It'd be cool if there was an option for people to either use realgm using the new layout or the old one.

Re: Horrible job
I'd be much more upset if I were paying for this. But having them work hard on this is a lame excuse. If being a little impolite means you'll make an impression on them to do a better job next time. All of this should have been tested on a secondary site so the migration affected the users as little as possible. Everything worked great before (for the users), so why change it?
Many of us spent years learning the forum and the different visual cues it has to use as efficiently as possible. Now all of that is gone and we all have to start from scratch. It really comes off as very amateurish if you go through all this and then it doesn't work.
But like I said, it is free for me so you can go ahead and ignore me

Re: Horrible job
The new layout is ugly, inefficient, and unresponsive.
It's too bulky with so many letters and words under each topic tittle. I wish we can go back to the old layout. It was much more simple and easy to look at.
The color schemes suck too.
