Fazekas: How Much, How Long?

Post#1 » by pad300 » Tue Jun 17, 2008 3:28 am

Nick Fazekas is a UFA this Summer; the Clippers don't even have any bird rights (he's only been with the team for part of a year)...What is the maximum contract that you would give him in terms of dollars and years? What do you hope to get away with giving him?

I like Fazekas. Always hustles, and has some offensive skills, I wouldn't mind us resigning him for a year or two at 1mil per.

I'm guessing we can sign him to any contract we want. It will probably be the minimum or close to it

Count me in on this one.. He's pretty good around the basket with rebounds and put-backs.. I think he'll be a solid bench player.

Fazekas is worth a shot to see if he can make our team or not, I think it depends on who we draft in the second round. I think we'll draft another big man in the second round.

Welcome to the board ClippzWerd42 :D

Fazekas is interesting player to me. He doesn't look like much but he's just efficient and does the right things. I definitely like his offensive rebounding.

Fazekas played alright last year, the one thing he has going against him is that he is a one position player in the pros where a guy like Paul Davis can fill in as a backup C as well as play PF.

^Whatup WeRD42 good to see you over here now that CT is defunct. Anyways, it might just come down to either Davis or Fazekas because we don't need the both of them. We'll see what Nick does in the summer league games.

Waddup MJ! It's good to see familiar names around here.. As you can tell, I have been joining new boards, since the collapse of CT..

Thanks for the welcomes, fellas!

^ Welcome Werdz! I think it's time for CTers to let go and realize that site might be gone forever. :x

But on the flipside, realgm is a great site and the more members, the better, especially as the draft nears.

Thanks illa! I finally realized that, and started having message board withdrawals, so I signed up here (and other boards).. LOL

It's sad.. I really liked CT, and it was my first board.. but this board seems very solid, and welcoming!

Okay...

:offtopic:

Sorry bout that!

Better Emoticons, too! LOL

Welcome aboard, Werd! Nice to have another Clipps fan on board.

As for Nick, I say if we sign him, it should be for the minimum.

So much for the title of this thread...now it's the "Welcome Werd42" thread! I'm down for that. Let me join the club to welcome you to RealGM too, Werd.

As for this Fazekas fella...I'm with illa here as well, he's a real nice player who always shows hustle. If it comes down to him and P. Diddy though, I'm going with Davis. I doubt there will be any team out there with an eye on Nick, so I'm sure that if we were to sign him, we could give him whatever deal we wanted to. I definitely wouldn't be disappointed to see Fazekas join the squad again.

Most definitely. They're supposed to offer Davis the QO. Hopefully sooner than later as the deadline is approaching.

2, maybe 3 year contract just above the minimum. A couple of teams might show some interest, but I can't imagine too many.
