Hey guys din't know if this has been discussed elsewhere but on www.nbl.com.au the australian league's website it had an article about Anderson and saying he was demanding a 5mil buyout from you guys.

Just wondering if anyone else knows, Anderson is one of my fav players (being from australia myself) but i don't think he warrants a buy out of 5mil.

He signed with FC Barcelona. Unsure how serious the flirtation was with the Hawks this year (not very I suspect). I do know that BK said he was high on bringing him over, but Rick Sund never really seemed that interested. It was kind of clear that he wouldn't be dealt with until the Joshes are resolved, which would have left him with little bargaining power that late in summer because most European clubs would have allocated their dollars by then.

Given the level of contract he signed, the Hawks weren't going that high.

Where did you see this ?

I only saw this page.

And it would be strange to talk about a buy-out since he is free agent this summer, his contract with CSKA being ended.

Maybe he was talking about 5M$ in salary, but buy-out ?

Another strange thing is that after saying he signed with Barcelona, there's: "He is currently also in negotiations with the Atlanta Hawks, who hold his NBA draft rights, with a view to playing in the NBA next season."

Maybe his new contract doesn't have a particularly large buyout.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
