For what it is worth, this isn't such a devastating move, at least in relation to the Magic. If you remember, Shard actually defended Bosh fairly well. It was when they forced Dwight onto Bosh that we had trouble. We match up much better now.

with that roster in these playoffs, the raps hanging on for one win would have been a stretch...how do you like that?

Why would you take a $44,000,000 risk on a guy that hasn't played anything close to a full season since 2003/2004 season?
let paid professionals do their job, don't you try and do it for them...

how?

i'll concede that more minutes for calderon and his matador defense is a plus, but i don't see how we match up better against their new frontcourt.

unless i'm missing something, the raptors still have the option of going small and forcing dwight onto bosh.

adding o'neal just means that they have a better big lineup, on both ends of the floor, than they did last season.

I suppose if they want to bench O'Neal, they could...

I don't mind this move as a Magic fan. Shard can do a decent job on Bosh and Dwight can guard O'Neal.

What makes me more happy is that when their starting point guard goes to sub out now I can breathe easy.

Which half of the season will O'Neal play, the half with or without the playoffs. Either way, it should be an intriguing 2 - 7 matchup. Thank God we'll have homecourt.

Just watch out this year magic fans. JO is healthier than hes ever been the last three years and he is already working out in Las Vegas. He is coming into this season with a chip on his shoulder. I smell 19/10 from him. Couple that with CB4's 24/10 and we've got ourselves the best front court in the entire league. Not to mention one of the best shooting point guards and shooting guard in the league. Oh i forgot, we also have the BEST shooter in the league who might start this year. Add out MLE player and our other few gems and there might be a new challenger to Boston in the east this season.

Wait.. we might not even be done dealing yet!!

it definitely improves their front court, but when you think about it, both are finesse players who don't stand a chance against dwight in a 7 game series. this makes them worse in relation to the magic because now they don't have the only thing they used to on us, the point guard play. when calderon subs out, who is coming in? darrick martin? LMFAO, good 2 - 7 matchup, we win 4-1 again
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

^ The Magic fans are basically envious for the sole fact that they're unable to make some real noise in the offseason due to Rashard Lewis' monster contract while other teams in the conference will get significantly better.

I love it.

The Magic are a minuscule amount over the cap, even with Dwight and Jameer's new contracts kicking in, and in perfect position to take on a few more $m without challenging the luxury tax. You guys have just taken on an additional $6m per year for the next two seasons with this one move, meaning you are further over the cap than the Magic - and you've still got to pay Jose Calderon. Add to that, our monster contract guy is healthier and way more productive. Try again.
