Don't sleep on Singletary

Post#1 » by A_novabobcat » Thu Jul 3, 2008 3:11 am

The dude is going to be a stud in the league. 1st team All ACC for three years in a row. Won the ACC his junior year, and senior year put up better numbers than before. You've got yourself a player, guys. :D

I hope he is a quick study and can add some scoring punch from the bench, a la Bobby Jackson.

Yeah, from the scouting reports/games that I seen from him. He seems like a player that could be a potential sleeper in the draft IMO.

Every time I watched him over the last 2 years in college i was impressed with him.
I remember when I first seen the mock draft and saw him pegged for the 2nd round, I thought to myself was i that far off with him?
He actually thought he would go mid to late first round.
I am pretty excited about him.

Funny thing is that I am more excited about Singletary than I am Thompson. I don't know why. I know I shouldn't be, but for some reason I am.

That video by Mobius got my hopes high up, I think he's going to be something special.
Right after I saw the Thompson pick and the Indiana deal, I knew Petrie had plans for a PG everybody slept on.

I like the fact that because we picked him up in the second round and have re-signed Beno there will be no heavy performance pressure on him right away. People tend to forget the old adage (because of the surprisingly accelerated development of guys like CP and Deron Williams) that point guards take 3-4 years to develop in the NBA. Used to be that you drafted guys and they learned and earned their spots gradually over a few years. Now its like " throw him on the court now so we can win!" SS should be able to develop yet get some good PT because of the lack of depth on the roster at point.

^^^Where did you get your Sean Singletary Jersey?
By the way, I just got done watching UVA vs. UNC again. And just to reiterate this guy is a stud, I haven't seen much of Beno this past season so I dont know how much he's developed since Sacramento, regardless Singletary will battle for starting position soon, and at worst will be a Bobby Jackson type of player. What are the Kings offensive style? do they like to run? B/c of Singletary's speed that would be an advantage.
