Bonner trade for Villanueva?

Post#1 » by ceperez » Fri Jul 4, 2008 12:21 pm

Here's a thought...

Trade Bonner for Villanueva, salaries are about the same.

With Bonner you get a healthy team player who can spread the floor and bang some bodies.

With Villanueva you get a sporadically unhealthy player with lots of potential that can spread the floor and block shots.

Sorry but as a Raptor fan knowing both players, this is a Brutal trade for the Bucks. Charlie V is the only PF they have. There is no chance that they trade him for a role / bench player in Matt Bonner. Nothing against Matt because I loved having him as a Rap. I even saw him on the street once on his way (walking) to practice and he took about minutes of his time to talk ball. Real class act.

There is a massive difference in talent between the two players and unless we add a first rounder, the Bucks laugh at this offer even if he is a hairless headcase.

I did go to Raptors board and they were interested in a sign and trade for Delfino for Bonner...

Not this Raptor fan. As much as I like Bonner, Delfino is the better player and suits our needs far more than Bonner. Any interest in trading Ginobli??

seriously the only piece on the raptors worth trading for is for BOSH,

we dont need to do anything but stand pat and be competitive till 2010 and ask him to come home to texas and play for the spurs when we have 10-12m salary cap to play around with. I think he will be spurs top priority FA that summer.

^^ LOL. If Bosh wanted to leave Toronto, he would have done so two seasons ago when he could have walked away from a broken down Raps squad. However, he signed with the Raps right away and donated $1 million to charity at his contract signing.

Its not in his character to back-stab, Ala Elton Brand. If the team is competing for a title by then, he won't walk.

yea i agree with that, raptors are in a good position too. we'll be likely to pry bosh away.
