Heat fan here...

Post#1 » by BlaZeN27 » Thu Jul 10, 2008 3:00 am

Obviously us Heat fans have been looking around for centers that could possibly be traded because are starting center in Mark Blount. We really don't have anymore of the MLE to use to sign a big man either. For some reason, until now I never thought about a Wizards center. But then I remembered that you guys have 2 great defensive centers. I LOVE Brendon Haywoods game, and I think he is one of the most underrated players in the NBA. I would love for us to trade for him but chances of that happening are slim because he Haslem isn't enough, and Marion is to much. But what about Etan Thomas? I know his contract is like 6 million a year for 3 more years, about the same as Haywoods. I also heard that him and Haywood dislike each other.

Now obviously it would be less likely because its inside your own division, and you don't have a great need for his but what about a deal involving Haslem for Etan Thomas? I look at your team and see no REAL weaknesses at all, except defensively. What about something like this?

Haslem
Dorell Wright
2009 2nd Round Pick

For

Etan Thomas

I think anything like this is a long shot because of your guys lack of need for Haslem with Jamison and all. The one thing though is, Haslem brings toughness and defense (but so does Etan). You guys could potentially use his expiring next year to help get another piece along side your great trio. Also, Dorell Wright gives you another good perimeter defender with some upside for cheap.

By the way, just thought I should say I am so happy that Caron is flourishing for you guys and he found a good home. Caron is one of my favorite Heaters, and he deserved a situation like hes in now with you guys. You guys lucked out getting him for Kwame.

Uh, this will be locked into the trade thread. However, I'd do this deal in a second.

Yeah me too. Etan's contract is too big and has a trade kicker, so if you offer anything of remotely equal value I'd take it in a second.
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

Any possibility of trading Haywood?

Most definitely. Any possibility of trading Beasley, Marion, or Wade? Yeah, I thought not.

There actually is a huge one for Marion, lol.

But are you seriously comparing Wade/Beasley's value to Brendan's? I'm just asking man, no need to get sarcastic.

No, I am certainly not. There's not a good deal that is fair for both the Heat and the Wizards regarding Haywood.

There has been some interest on the forum regarding a Caron Butler and filler (Etan, or Songaila, etc.) for Marion. Opinions are divided over that.

If you read my original post then you would have seen that I agree that it would be hard to trade for Haywood. How much do you guys value him? Especially with the drafting of McGee.

That idea is VERY intruging though, I love Caron.
