He was released today.

Jays should give him a chance for the right amount of $$.

What's the point though. He's probably washed up, is a left handed bat, and could barely run the bases in his prime.

Besides, even if he hit 75 home runs in the second half of the season we ain't making the playoffs. Lets wait till next year before signing anymore castoffs from the only offense in the AL worse than ours (Wilky was enough).

as a FA, there is no reason for him to want to sign on with us.

So I guess the mariners are competing with us for the tank-job

Sexson was a king kong bust for the Mariners. The Jays have zero use for him.

Sexson might be done, but still a good addition by the Yankees. Sure, Yankee Stadium is much kinder to lefties with power than righties, check out Sexson's unbelievable home/road splits this year...a difference of 350 points of OPS, though his career numbers at Yankee Stadium are anemic (probably from facing Yankee pitching, of course). Sexson should be good for an OPS+ of 100-110 as the go-to guy for 1B/OF/DH days off and as injury insurance, and that's not bad for a replacement-level salary.
