J.O. on the radio

Post#1 » by Crossova21 » Mon Jul 14, 2008 3:08 pm

Only those in Indianapolis!!!!

J.O. is on 96.3 answering questions related to his move to Toronto. I'm not sure how long he'll be on but fans are encouraged to call. He already answered questions about what he'll miss most (the fans) and what jersey number he'll wear (6). He also said he doesn't have any hard feelings and hopes the Pacers will do well with their young players. He did mention he hopes his jersey will be retired in Indy. Just thought ya'll would like to hear from our former face of the franchise.

JO had a very good career, but I don't think it was good enough to retire his jersey. I believe only Reggie Miller has his jersey retired without a title.

I think Jermaine falls just short of having his jersey retired. If he could've played 3 more healthy seasons and led us to at least another Eastern Conference Finals, I could've seen him getting his number retired.

Radio is a sound salvation
Radio is cleaning up the nation
They say you better listen to the voice of reason
But they don't give you any choice
'cause they think that it's treason.
So you had better do as you are told.
You better listen to the radio.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

Your probably right about his jersey being retired unless he reutrns to Indiana at the end of his career. I just hope when he comes back he gets a standing ovation, I know alot of people became frustrated with him and his injuries but the guy played on one leg for two years for this franchise and he did give us a great run.

I know I will give him a standing O, but I can certainly see how some would be frustrated. I think he played the poor me card quite a bit after Isiah was let go.

Some of my friends sit around every evening
and they worry about the times ahead
But everybody else is overwhelmed by indifference
and the promise of an early bed
You either shut up or get cut out;
they don't wanna hear about it.
It's only inches on the reel-to-reel.
And the radio is in the hands of such a lot of fools
tryin' to anaesthetise the way that you feel
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.
