Othello Hunter

Post#1 » by gurpilo » Sun Jul 20, 2008 2:41 pm

We have to sign this guy, he is reminding me the same situation we had with Udonis Haslem. He played for us on the summer league, made a good tournament but we did not sign him and he made a player on Miami. We can repeat the same situation.

So far on the summer league:

11 pts, 6rb, 1 as, 1blk against Dallas on 5/5 FG
19 pts, 8rb, 3 as, 4stl and 1bl against Utah on 8/13 FG

Do you really think Solomon Jones will put this numbers, we have seen this guy two years and he did nothing. Hunter is athletic and only 22 years old, still very young. You can find more information about his profile:

I really think we should sign him to be at least the 14th or 15th man on the roster because he has done very well so far.

He can have a spot on the roster: Assuming we sign Brown and Richardson:

Bibby/Law/Speedy
JJ/Richardson
Marvin/Childress
Smith/Zaza
Horford/Brown

That is 13 players, the other 2 could go for Luke Jackson, Hunter and Solo. Someone is going to get injured (probably Speedy) and we will need bodies on the frontcourt. Based on what we are seeing I would put him even ahead of Jones. Solo has size and athleticism but he has done nothing in 2 years even in Summer League, he needs to use the opportunity or let it for someone who can use it

I don't see Brown being realistic target right now at the pace ASG is moving. I figure if we sign a big man it would be one off the SL roster. If Hunter continues as he has. He may just get the job. I really don't think Solo is even in discussion now as far as making the team. We may just end up releasing him or trading him for cash.
