Well, I haven't seen the footage of the WNBA fight, but at the moment I'd give them the edge, only because the midget Nate Robinson was involved in the Nugget/Knicks and while he threw a few punches, was never able to actually land any.

It wasn't a sucker punch. Back peddling wasn't cowardly, it was smart. If he stayed, a bigger fight erupts and Stern suspends him for the season. But no, I'm not saying it was a good thing. Would have been better if it never happened, or if that little (Please Use More Appropriate Word) Robinson didn't start throwing punches first.

Melo punched a Mardy Collins who wasnt even looking with both his arms wrapped up, if that isnt a sucker punch, than what is? then he back peddled away across the entire court as jeffries and Robinson went after him.. I like Melo as much as anybody on this board but saying that wasnt a classless move is insane. that was probably the biggest pussy acts ive ever seen in sports...

I doubt that was what Melo was thinking during the heat of the battle, who knows though.

I'm not calling it not classeless. Nor am I calling the punch smart. Though if I remember the film, Collins was looking in his direction when he threw it.

It is possible during the "heat of the battle" he f'ed up and threw that punch, then realized right away he had f'ed up. A lot of people when they lose their cool and screw up, usually realize it almost right away. Though eh.. this is a really old debate, isn't it? lol

I agree though, who knows.
