Bucs QB Garcia hurt

Green Bay - Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden this morning downplayed a calf injury that forced QB Jeff Garcia to be carted off the field, according to the St. Pete Times.

Still, speculation is going to run wild since the Bucs have been seeking to speak with Brett Favre about a possible trade. So far, Favre has refused, much to the frustration of the Packers' front office.

Gruden said Garcia is day-to-day, but that is often coach-speak for "we don't know how bad it is yet."

"I don't believe it's serious," Gruden said. "We're going to get the information. He might not have much at all. Right now, until we evaluate it further, we really can't say much else."

Garcia was injured in a non-contact "scramble drill" likely on a roll out.

"I think it was just a freak thing," Gruden said. "He was dropping back and took off as he always does, changed directions and felt a little pull in there."

Garcia was taken by golf cart to the locker room, then struggled to walk a distance of about 15 feet from the sidewalk to the front door. He put almost no weight on his right leg as he made his way in to be evaluated further.

Prior to that, Garcia was worked on by trainers for more than 10 minutes under a sideline tent, apparently to no avail. When he got up from the trainer's table after a few minutes of therapy, he tested the leg by walking a few steps, but quickly abandoned those efforts.

I guess the Pack decided to offer Garcia the $20 million to get "hurt". Nice job.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Couldn't we just offer Jeff Garcia's ex-girlfriends $20 bucks to fight instead? The Packers are a prestigious organization, though, so maybe Murphy would insist on something more tasteful, like jello-wrestling.

Murphy should use some of that $20 million to get some dental work done.

Wow, it's been reported the Packers want to give Favre $20 million not to play. Not only that but
did you guys read how Favre still has his Packer issued cell phone and the records show he's been calling the Vikings?
