The truth is that most of them will get tossed into the melting pot of the other rarely remembered NBA role players.

Robert Horry will be remember as big shot bob although his hit on steve nash may overshadow that for the people of Phoenix.

Eric Snow will be remembered as a true leader on and off the court. Every player should strive to act the way he does.

Remembered by who? People 20 years from now aren't going to remember the solid role players from our era. It's going to be the big names that hang around for years to come. Name some solid role players off the top of your head from the Bill Russell celtics era. It's sad but the vast majority of fans will only remember the legacies of the greats and not the glue players that pushed them over the top.

Sam Cassell.. - second tier pg
PJ Brown.. - sort of like anthony mason

Eric Snow.. - won't be remembered
Joe Smith.. - #1 pick bust and for the Minny scandal

Juwan Howard(?).. - How did the Bullets give him a 7 year 105 million dollar contract?
Eddie Jones.. - be remembered like moncrief
Lindsey Hunter.. - random old ass pg
Theo Ratliff.. - kevin duckworth like
Cuttino Mobley.. - no one will remember
Jason Williams.. - white guy who wanted to be black
Derek Fisher.. - he'll be well remembered as like a pg who was clutch
Keith Van Horn.. - won't be remembered
Raja Bell.. - part of the Phoenix offensive machine
Brent Barry.. - clutch player..will be remembered cuz of family

I honestly don't think any of these players will be remembered in 20 years, except by the fans who saw them play. Maybe Horry.

Bowen - one of the best perimeter defenders of his generation, key role player on championship teams. Similar to Michael Cooper.

Cassell - taking over 4th quarters for the Rockets in the Finals, one of the more "unique" looking players in the NBA.

Ilgauskas - a good but not great big.

Joe Smith - as a disappointing #1 pick, also as the player that cost Minny all those first round picks.

Stackhouse - once averaged 29.8 ppg.

Jason Williams - elbow pass in the Rookie game.

Fisher - 0.4 second shot vs SA.

Raja Bell - Kobe clothesline.

Horry - clutch playoff shots.


The rest of them probably won't be remembered in 20 years. Horry is the only guy I see being remembered in 40 years.

Horry has already etched his spot in history with his rings and countless clutch shots in the postseason. And while he earned them the convenient way (riding the coattails), he will always be remembered.

I meant more as in how they will be remembered by our generation of basketball fans..I will definitely remember all these guys when I look back, most of them played key parts on some top teams..and some of them were just good role players..

Sam Cassell.. - Excellent scoring PG, one of the sweetest pullup midrange jumpers in league history

Joe Smith.. - Bust
Jerry Stackhouse.. - All mouth, no results
Juwan Howard(?).. - 100 Million ?
Eddie Jones.. - Smoothest cat this side of the mason dixon lol

Theo Ratliff.. - Injuries kept him from winning multiple DPOY

Jason Williams.. - Could've been special, bad attitude
Derek Fisher.. = Clutch shooter on 1st dynasty of 21st century
Keith Van Horn.. - What happened to this guy?
Brent Barry.. - White dude who won the 96 dunk contest

Robert Horry.. - I remember im as being a Off Rebound Putback dunk specialist in Houston, later made a name for himself in LA hitting some of the biggest shots ive ever seen

Damon Stoudamire.. - 96 Rookie of the Year , disappeared after his first 2 years in Portland

IMO, that's it.

Of course, more avid fans of the NBA will remember all or most of them.
