NBA TV Retro game: Det vs Orl 2003

Post#1 » by Optimus_Steel » Sat Aug 16, 2008 2:54 am

On NBA TV they are showing game 2 of the 2003 first round series with our Magic vs Pistons. One thing that struck me is how pathetic our lineup was outside of McGrady:

PG- Vaughn
SG-Giricek
SF-McGrady
PF-Gooden
C- DeClerq

We did have an aging Darrell and a prime Garrity coming off the bench but still that was a talent poor team. Washed up Kemp, bonehead Hunter, ballheaded Pat Burke, Chris fraeking Whitney, Jerryl LOL Sasser. Of course Grant Hill was hurt but man. I king of forgot how much that team was lacking. As much as people complain now about Nelson's height, and the SG position, and not having a true PF on the starting lineup, it does put things in perspective as to how bad things were. Jacque Vaugh was our starting PG LMAO. DQ was starting games for us, wowwwwwww.

BTW, does anyone remember that one poster that used to go crazy when someone mispelled DeClerq? LOL.

Wherever he is, he's going crazy right now, because you spelled it wrong not once, but twice! It's DeClercq.

But yeah, that team had issues. Garrity actually made shots back then, though.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Damn that team was bare...Chris Whitney and Jacque Vaughn on court at the same time? Detriot was a far superior team man 1-12 and still has been.

Geez, then I spelled it wrong the whole time he was there.

Ah the good ole days of T-Mac and a bunch of no names. It's pretty amazing that we even went up 3-1 in that series. That team was pathetic. Still just thinking about that series makes me sick b/c I remember after Game 4 celebrating and looking towards the next round. And Boom we were out a few days later.
