Charlie Frye...

Post#1 » by Sweezo » Sun Aug 17, 2008 3:15 am

...is a horrible quarterback. I don't know if anyone's watching this preseason game, but he has 3 interceptions and they've all been poor. The last one was a near safety where he took too long, scrambled, and then threw across his body to a Bear who ran it in for a TD. It's one game, but...if we're going to have a 3rd QB who plays like he has no pro experience, we might as well give someone a chance who is not an also-ran like Frye.

Agreed. I watched bits and pieces of the game and everything I saw from Frye just left a lot to be desired. If the team had to rely on him, they would really be hurting.

There's got to be someone out there who we can pick up, since Frye is clearing a bad option. Who are the old guys who haven't signed yet?

Cullpepper? Could he be any worse than Charlie? Seriously.

Frye got some credit in the local media for "leading" the team on tying and game-winning drives, and I don't understand why. All he did was hand the ball off the Forsett and get the hell out of the way.

Ahhh so he's become Rex Grossman.

Maybe they thought getting out of the way was an accomplishment.

Whatever happened to David Greene? And what's going on with Seneca Wallace right now? He didn't suit up for the Bears game IIRC.

Wallace had a tight groin, but he's fine. I think they got him internet and a box of tissues and he worked it out.

What if the team goes after Chris Simms when/if he gets cut? He doesn't totally suck and he is experienced in a Holmgren-type offense...

Culpepper really looking that washed up? Theoretically I'd rather run Dante than Simms unless he still thinks he wants the bucks, or he's finished.

Ok, Charlie's tough and getting the hang of things... I guess. the monday game did show alot from him: Arm strength, pocket poise, some surprising evasion. I'm not ready for him to be our fallback plan, but I think he showed enough to unleash Wallace in some spot slash plays.

I did think the broadcasters were making him out to be the best backup in the league which is silly.
