J-Rich II in O-Town

Good luck to Jeremy Richardson in Orlando. He has a real chance to stick with the Magic, spelling Hedo when needed at the 3.

What a joke. After his summer league performance this makes absolutely no sense. This team needs shooters and we know that J-rich can hit the outside shot. I don't understand why we aren't even giving him a chance to prove his worth here. I really think the guy can play in the NBA and is well on hiw way to having a good career.

I thought Sund gave him a qualifying offer? I think he has a good shot but he was probably the worst defender on the team. We tried to play him at times last year but Baron Davis,Matt Harpring, and Ron Artest all scored on him just about every time in the low post.

I think Gardner was the guy who took his spot. He shot the ball well in college and in SL and is probably a better defender.

Not too worried about this. Never gave J a chance anyway. If Gardner can shoot almost as well, may as well give him a shot because he can't be any worse on D.

J-Rich caught my eye when he signed the ten-day contract with us in 2007. I thought we should have kept him then, too. I followed him in the D-league and the guy can really put points up, which we saw some flashes of when he actually got to play.

Let's remember J-Rich has only played 32 games in the NBA in his career. He has only played 152 minutes of NBA basketball for crying out loud. I don't think it's fair to say what kind of a defender he is. Obviously he is not a good one, but he could have been an average defender considering his length.

I think we are going to regret this. I don't think J-Rich will be great but I see him having a good NBA career as an offensive spark off the bench. Which is something we could really use.

Sounds like J-Rich turned some heads in Orlando. He made the team even though he was just a training camp invitee.

Great news for him, and good to see I called something right for once. With the depth behind Hedo not being all that hot, I think J-Rich will be able to build up some decent minutes as a backup.

I have been on the J-Rich bandwagon since his days in the 2006-07 season (see my previous post). Everyone thought Salim was the diamond in the rough, but I feel that J-Rich was the guy we let get away. And now Salim gets cut and J-Rich forces his way onto the Magic roster in the same day. Coincidence? I think not.

Funny, I was just about to append my comment with "Speaking of ex-Hawks, anybody heard whether Salim's hanging on?" and took it out.

Sorta the opposite with him, as I thought it'd be hard for him depth-wise on the Spurs, particularly as a PG or an undersized SG. I think he'd fit nicely with the Raps (Lakers maybe), but otherwise he may have to hold out for a midseason call-up if he wants to play on this continent this season.
