Marcus Camby ??

Post#1 » by scratch21 » Sat Oct 4, 2008 9:00 pm

On Monday, the Clippers' Marcus Camby acknowledged he was still bitter about the way the Denver Nuggets treated him in sending him to Los Angeles for next to nothing. And he hasn't been able to practice since Tuesday night. The Clippers said he has been suffering from flu-like symptoms, and he will miss the open scrimmage tonight at Camp Pendleton and may not be back on Sunday either. Baron Davis said he has been texting Camby but didn't want to comment in depth. Dunleavy went a step beyond that and said he sent Camby a DVD of a team practice this week. The good news is Camby apparently texted back, saying he watched the DVD.

What's so suspicious about being having the flu? As far as his bitterness goes, he's made it perfectly clear that it is all in Denver's direction. He looked pretty damn happy in those pictures during media day. If anything, it's Tim Thomas who looks grumpy.

I've heard that the flu has been going around so I don't want to jump to conclusions. As long as his frustrations are with the way that Denver did him, then it's all good as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully he will channel that bitterness into motivated play on the court. His presence as a leader is going to be a vital component to the team's success.

All we need him to do is block, get some rebounds and score a few baskets.

I don't think he's mad at the Clippers, but more at Denver because they basically traded him for a bag of chips. I'd be mad too if it was me, considering all the work he put in at Denver.

Yeah Camby felt the same way after the Knicks traded him away, he gets close to his teammates. Its not a shot at the Clippers at all, just like mentioned that he was practically given away. Camby brings his rebounding, leadership and most important a consistent 15 footer.

I'm just happy that we were able to get Camby, we hardly had to give up anything. But he is more valuable than just swapping 2nd round picks. I guess Denver saw more value in getting under the cap than keeping Camby. Everyone knows that they will miss his presence this season.

The guy had the flu. Big deal. I bet he's back at practice today.

Camby did return to complete a full practice today. Dunleavy is planning to ease him back in slowly, but I hope to see him in Thursday's game against the Lakers.
