Bulls fan said Rockets would jump all over this deal
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=842246&p=17399813#p17399813
Here is the situation, I proposed if Bulls fan would do the below trade because I knew Rockets fans wouldn't and then I got a Bulls fan that said the Rockets would be all over this deal.
It was a hypothetical trade situation but I wanted to see how most Bulls fans think as far as the future goes.
Bulls Trade: Rose, Deng, Gordon, Noah and Tyrus
Bulls Receive: Yao, T-mac, Head and Brooks
Rockets Trade: Yao, T-mac, Head and Brooks
Rockets Receive: Rose, Deng, Gordon, Noah and Tyrus
Bulls Lineup
PG Hinrich/Brooks/Head
SG T-mac/Hughes
SF Nocioni/Thabo
PF Gooden/Simmons
C Yao/Gray
Rockets Lineup
PG Rose/Alston
SG Deng/Gordon/Barry
SF Artest/Battier
PF Scola/Tyrus/Hayes
C Deke/Noah
Would any Rockets fan even sniff at that deal?

WTF no
T-Mac could go in a Deng, Noah type package, but definitely not for Yao

The entire Bulls roster is a joke. I would consider McGrady for Rose though.

That trade is horrible.
Also why do so many people think it's necessary, in a two team trade, to list
TEAM 1 GIVES A
TEAM 1 GETS B
TEAM 2 GIVES B
TEAM 2 GETS A
Duh?

Houston won't do it. Because contenders don't tear apart their team for a chance to contend in the future. That just don't make sense.
Chicago would do it only if they believe that team have a shot at title.
The Chicago team after the trade looks a lot like the 06-07 Rockets.
Hinrich/TMac/Nocioni/Gooden/Yao
vs.
Alston/TMac/Battier/Hayes/Yao
Hinrich/ Nocioni and Alston/Battier is a wash;
Gooden > Hayes
The 06-07 Rockets was a 52 win team in the West if you still remember. So the new Chicago team would be capable of winning 55+ games easily in the East. Whether they can beat Boston is the question mark. But at least they will have a shot IMHO.

If the year were 2015, then yeah I'd make that trade.

lol, I never understood this either.
And no, I don't think it's a good trade for the Rockets. Yao/McGrady/Artest core should be really good for a couple of years.

HAHAH because people think that what the Bulls recieve and what we trade away is different in a two team trade? If you have to post two team trades like that, then you should get off these forums and continue ur special ed. pre-algebra courses.
This trade is ridiculous. I shouldn't have even wasted a post on this. =/

More like we'd jump ON Bulls fans for proposing this trade...I mean Rose is nice, but this is pretty bad value..

Re: Bulls fan said Rockets would jump all over this deal
Bulls fans definitely have an inflated sense of value for their own players probably from their own organization overpaying for their talent. I don't think anyone on their roster is a "tier 1" player by any stretch of the imagination not even Luol Deng. Deng is a good SF but not top 10. They're paying him antawn jamison money when he performs less than Jamison, and jamison isn't even an "elite" sf.
gordon is a younger larry hughes, but i don't see him developing past where hughes peaked. however, being bulls fans, they see him as an unstoppable scoring machine and a fantastic basketball talent when in reality monta ellis scored more and even kevin durant as a rookie did as well.
rose... well it took chris paul 3 years to "get it together" and paul was, in my opinion, a better natural point guard. i see at least 4.5 seasons before we see anything significant out of him, especially anything to rival what alston's already contributing.
thomas and noah are scrubs. i don't think even bulls fans would contend that fact. flat out scrubs who should stay on the bench and have no part in any basketball within 5 minutes of tipoff or 5 minutes of the final buzzer.
So let's break it down - Bulls upgrade their roster by thinning out their frontcourt hardcore and damning themselves to mediocrity by sitting with hinrich as pg, and the Rockets upgrade by taking away the only two calming presences in the locker room from artest and get an infusion of headstrong, untested youths led by ron-ron.
end resule: bulls turn into a poor man's version of the magic, which is really a lateral move... and the rockets turn into the kings last year, which was the exact situation that drove artest out. the nba... it's FAAAAAAAAAAAN-tastic.

Not for Yao, he is too unique.
