Von Wafer

Post#1 » by bubba » Sat Oct 11, 2008 2:55 am

Is there any chance he could actually make the team? i know its against scrubs in the preseason, but he does have some talent and he's a taller big that could hopefully defend some bigger 2's. i love stevie and all but if he cant contribute this year why not let wafer? this is just something i noticed after watching him so far.

No way we cut Francis , he makes too much money.

Wafer needs to have more than one good pre season game to make the team but he for sure helped himself with that performance.

i thought of that too, and thats why we prob wont cut him. at least this will be his last year here because i doubt we'll resign him.

I wouldn't be suprised to see the Rockets buy Francis out, or ask him to retire. But.. Im not sure that it would be for Wafer.

If I had to bet, I would bet he would not make the team. But you never know, some one will get hurt or stay hurt (i.e. Battier or T-Mac).

It doesnt appear that he's a guarantee "cut" just yet. He's really make it tough on the coaching staff as he continues to play well. That tomahawk jam was sick !!!

OK, assuming Mutombo gets resigned we basically have Harris, Strawberry, and Wafer battling for that last roster spot. To me it would be between Wafer and Harris.

You guys concern yourself too much about who is going to make the roster. Just look at who has guaranteed contracts and there's your answer.

Harris - not guaranteed
strawberry - not guaranteed
Wafer - not guaranteed

its pretty much 1/3 of them.

He's a 10-day contract waiting to happen in about 6 months...
