Article: Jets/Packers Trade - Correct or Incorrect?

Either this article is incorrect or my perception of the Favre trade has been incorrect. I thought the Packers would get a 2nd round pick if Favre plays in 70% of the snaps AND make the playoffs. If the Jets make the Super Bowl, that is the only way the Pack get a 1st round pick. This article, which may be misleading, makes it sound like if Favre plays in 80% of the snaps OR the Jets make the Super Bowl, the Pack get a 1st rounder. That would be sweet, but I think the article is wrong.

Adam Schefter is pretty good, but I think he got it wrong.

Shefter didn't get it wrong. Whoever did the wiretap got it wrong. This is from the JS website:

Adam Schefter, a reporter for the NFL Network, on Sunday took up the topic of compensation due the Packers from the New York Jets for the Brett Favre trade.

"The compensation for Brett Favre is coming into focus," Schefter said. "The New York Jets traded a conditional fourth-round pick to Green Bay that already has become a third-round pick. If the Jets make the playoffs and Favre plays 70% of the plays, which is certainly going to happen, it will turn into a second-round pick. So it looks like it's on its way to becoming a second-round pick and could become a first-round if Favre plays 80% of the plays and the Jets reach the Super Bowl."

I don't even read the wiretaps anymore. I've read so many that are inaccurate and way off base. It's a joke. That Brewer article last week pertaining to Corey Hart was ridiculous too.
