He can simply wait him out and have someone he chooses take a second look and give him an opportunity to show what he has. Granted Crittenton is not actually a big move, but if something as simple as that is unlikely than something major in this disfunctional situation is probably highly unlikely. We have not seen any improvement from any player which is the result of the coach or his staff. Player development is a major issue to sit thru the three year plan, but if the players aren't improving or they look as thou they are not being coached up then what are we doing?
Maybe I was alittle bit misunderstood - I'm all for firing Ivy at this point. To me, the biggest issue is that we
know this team is capable of playing better, because they did just that at the beginning of the year. When you have drop off like we've had with a young team, it means either (1) the coach is inept or (2) the team has tuned him out IMO. But the notion that Heisley won't do anything about it until 1/01/09, because of tax reasons is just ... typical, honestly. In the meantime, we're wasting an entire month+ in terms of player and team development, because the guys know Ivy is as good as gone. Heisley either needs to fire him now or come out an unequivocally state that he's the coach until further notice.
