im a portland fan and am wondering what it would take for us to get Craig smith.

Well, I was just reading a thread on another board debating whether Craig Smith was the second best player on the team, but I think we all realize that he's not some super-valuable player. He has terrific quickness that allows him to get his shot off against taller players, he's putting the ball on the floor these days like Anthony Mason, but his height means he needs a defender behind him. Actually, he wouldn't be bad next to Oden or Przybilla.

MIN fans like Craig Smith, and a problem with a deal with POR is that so many of your assets like Blake, Outlaw, Frye or Diogu, will probably be available this summer for the wolves in free agency. The wolves don't have any pressing need to sacrifice Smith to win now, and his contract is so cheap that they don't need to worry about losing it to make the space.

I think you're looking at a young piece that's probably the equivalent of a pick in the 20's. It might be worth looking at a larger deal too.
