The Jazz are fine...

Post#1 » by Bradford » Mon Dec 29, 2008 12:03 am

Last year through 32 games the Jazz were 16-16. This year they through the same amount of games they are two games better at 18-14. With all the injuries they've had, I'm amazed they are still four games over 500. Once the Jazz begin to get healthy and get their swagger back, they will once again be Northwest Division Champions (yeah, I know the Nuggets have a 2 1/2 game lead with 50 games to go, but I'll go out on a limb and make that bold prediction lol) and be playing their best basketball when it counts most-the playoffs. The Jazz will be fine and you can look forward to an exciting rest of the season and another deep playoff run. No trades necessary. When all of Deron, Brewer, Miles, Boozer, Okur, Kirilenko, Harpring, and Millsap get healthy and get a chance to play together, it will be a great finish to the season, with a fantastic chance to still be playing in June.

Not really, utah hasn't been fully healthy once this year, who knows how we will play the top teams. All utah needs is to get in the playoffs. Sloan will do the rest to get his team prepared and if were all healthy we can sure as hell make some noise in the playoffs.

However that being said if a trade is on the table for boozer that gets us pretty good value for him like a caron butler or gerald wallace package utah should do it and not lose boozer for nothing.

I also think the Jazz are okay. They still have a lot of work to do, but I have faith that a lot can be done this year.

The Jazz are fine. It is 4 or 5 girly fans who have no guts and are purely bandwagoned that have given up on this team already. Even if we have a losing season, and we end up worse than OKC or the T-Wolves, I am still behind this team.

I' m not sure we are fine.
I mean, yeah, it's fantastic we are playing young guys and they are showing potential and they can play... but we thought we were contenders and we are the 9th team in the west.
Sure we have bad luck with injuries and so.... but we can only think in what we have now, and not how we'll look with our roster complete, because we don't know when it will happen, and how we'll show.
I'm frustated, because I expected more, altough I know we have room to improve.

I'm still predicting a visit to teh WCF for the Jazz. As down as I am on them right now, I still think they get this ship righted in time.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I bet we still win the division, battle for HC in the 1st round. Our bench guys are getting good minutes and other than Harp, playing pretty good. Sap is developing some serious game, Kosta is showing his potential. Fes dominated Yao defensively last game, and might just be a guy to come in and play some spot duty in the playoffs against slower bigs.

Also, these minutes are also good in helping us determine who to keep for next season. Losing Booze or Memo might not break us. Korver is looking expendable, and CJ can be our 3 specialist. Harp is looking retired, Brew is turning into a nice option in our offense with his midrange.

Not a homer post.

I've seen a lot of silver lining in the cloud that this Jazz season has been so far.

We haven't had one single game with our top four players together. Injuries have sucked, but look at the confidence Koufos and Fes have been able to develop...we may find, in the future, that we don't need to trade for that defensive big after all. Millsap has stepped it up yet again...our bench is weak right now but only because our bench has been starting. Imagine what an improved one-two punch of Boozer and Millsap will do to teams if they get healthy...

I've even seen an improvement on the road. We may not have a great road record, but the team has been able to compete better than they did last year; who expected the Rockets game to go into 2OT?

This team has what it needs. It's all a matter of using it consistently.

If we can develop the confidence it takes to consistently play well (not just in spurts), this team will be dangerous soon.

i couldnt agree more.
one of the things i hate about our fans is we all listen to jerry sloan when he talks about not using injuries as an excuse. I do agree in some instances when a its one or two guys. Lets be realistic not only have our injury woes been to multiple players but ALL of our best players, i mean really 6 of our BEST guys have missed MULTIPLE games. We cant EXPECT to be changing line-ups and rotations every game and expect to be 25-7 or something crazy like that.

look at the names our players that have missed games due to injury this year and what they mean to our team
Deron Williams- our quarterback so to speak and definitely our best player
Carlos Boozer- our leading scorer and rebounder as well as a team captain
Memhet okur- one of our best scorers and at least our 2nd best shooter
Paul Millsap- the key to our benches success and next to dwill he is probaly our toughest player as well as our best defensive big
Kyle Korver- our best shooter and a huge key for opening the paint for our bigs, he is just a great weapon
Matt harpring- Our banger one of the few guys on our team that is willing to get his hands dirty and wont back down from ANYONE even if he cant hit a layup im glad he is ours

Thats ALOT to be missing and sooner or later these guys will all be back together and when that happens i believe we will take off and prove we are at least one of the 4 best teams in the league with the celtics, lakers, and hornets

Agree.

We should trade Booze and Deron for Kobe and Lebron.

Then maybe.
