Refs were wrong again haha

Post#1 » by Jdiddy701 » Tue Jan 6, 2009 7:26 pm

Hey guys I know this is a stupid post.. but do you guys remember the Rockets game where Rafer and Barnes got in it? Then Nash came then Tmac then Shaq.. then Shaq knocked everyone down? Haha. Well the shot kinda after that where Nash hit a buzzard halfcout shot BUT didn't count? Do you guys remember that? Well, the refs said he didn't get it off on time and didn't count it.. but were they right? I know it's an irrelevant post, but sometimes those replays aren't accurate?

Sorry it's a bad picture. I was just watching the game again and laughed when I noticed it.

while the image definitely shows it as legit, national broadcasts arent guaranteed to be 100% accurate as far as the time sync

I dont know why refs dont use their replay for every iffy buzzer beater and out of bounds call in the game.

correct me if im wrong, but look at the scorers table. isnt that the red light right along the bottom, indicating time has expired? the televised timer and the actually timer arent usually the same ones. its entirely possible that the tv timer was simply off.

Agreed^

I remember watching that shot live and I'm 99% sure the refs were right. The shot clock showed it was in his hands still

That light has been a huge boon in situations like this. It's one of the really, really smart thing the league has done in recent years. They're visible from most any angle, so regardless of where the photo/camera is, you can see one.
