"Im pretty certain we will add guard and a big man"Grousbeck

Post#1 » by klemen4 » Thu Jan 15, 2009 1:57 am

"Im pretty certain we will add guard and a big man"..Rick Grousbeck, managing partner and CEO Wyc of Boston Celtics just said during the NJN game. "I am sure Danny will find players".

Nice to hear that...

I think there is a verbal agreement made with Marbury (after the buyout)...and that Smith in the end will be that big man with Scall+? going to Oklahoma. Well this is my dream scenario.

I would rather have Starbaby and P.J/Mourning. 8-)

might be reading to much into it, but saying 'guard' as opposed to wing makes me think they are targetting marbury aswell... we dont necissarily need a guard if they believe in cassell and pruitt, but the 3 spot is an obvious hole.

Marbury/Mourning would be a dream, but not likely in the slightest...

i just hope Danny and Doc arent too content with the team and stop looking for deals just to wait for buy outs

I sure hope Pruitt isn't just being showcased. But if he gets us the pieces to get us back to the championship, I can't argue.

I hope he didn't mean Mark Blount and Marcus Banks.

He said something like: He likes our players-but wasn't opposed to losing a couple to improve the team--meaning, releasing someone in order to sign a free agent--or making a 2 for 1 trade?

As long as they keep Giddens & Walker, or at least Walker adding Marbs & Smith/Mourning is a good move. Still think they should have grabbed Deke though.

OKC's request for a first round pick for Joe Smith won't fly because to make a trade work,
they'd have to take back $3.5 to $5.8 Million in salary, and they don't really want a long term commitment or a bad contract impacting the cap space the next two seasons.

So, I think there is a decent chance Smith gets bought out,
if he accepts $1 million less than his $4.7 million for the season.

Otherwise, PJ is probably more likely than Mourning, since Miami seems to be
playing well, although the tough part of their schedule
(road games and good teams) hasn't hit them yet.

Marbury is a ? because he doesn't have an agent doing his negotiating.

But Danny has trade chips. It's just a question of which ones he uses.

There are also whispers that Phoenix may blow up their team early,
before the playoffs.

If they do, Grant Hill would probably be available,
and he can play PG, SG, SF and PF in the second unit.

I hope they keep Gabe Pruitt and send Tony Allen packing. Sorry TA fans.

After the way Pruitt has been playing, and what we saw from Walker tonight i think TA would be the best guy to move, decent salary so it wont be as hard to match with other teams

Well loking position wise

Starting five is set for 2 years
Powe will be resigned

Than we have our joungsters
c obrient
pf big baby
sf walker
sg giddens
pgpruit

With Powe probably resigned, and House to stay 2 years

Big Baby+Giddens+T.Allen+Scall are the ones we would not miss position wise
Talent wise I would like to Keep Gidenns to see what he can do

So the perfect package is Scal, Allen, Baby

Keep baby, resign hip 2 years 2 mio per

So Scall and Tony can GO

I was listening too, he really sounded like something was going to get done. Or needs to be done for that matter. He didn't dance around the issue.

(not that i really doubted it)

You know one particular good sign about this coming from Wyc's mouth - he's the one that would have to authorize the eating of Giddens or O'Bryant's (2009-10) salary if we need to open up a spot. (as well as the luxury tax hit of whoever we sign).

That reminds me...I guess Cassell's contract just became guaranteed last week??

As far as I remember Cassell's contract has been guaranteed from the beginning.
