Not too different from what a bunch of us here on this board think. He's increased his scope beyond Marvin, which was nice to read. I agree on all counts (except some of his player crushes); it's a good article.

Eh. Some good stuff, some "wtf" stuff. I'll give credit to the quality, time, and effort, but I don't agree with some of the conclussions.

I read it earlier this morning and i agree it was a great, in depth, well thought out article. My only issue is I dont think in terms of overall talent Ariza should be ranked ahead of Marvin Williams or Ramon Sessions, but thats more personal opinion that absolute fact.
Id love AK, Crash or Marvin Williams here next season

I agree with the Ariza comments. If we paid enough money to "make Ariza, his children and childrens children" comfortable for life we are in big trouble.

I think our biggest targets should and will be Marvin Williams and Hedo. Its hard to see Orlando opening up the wallet to keep him.
Perhaps a sign and trade involving Gomes or Craig and future picks is in order?

One of the things that came up in the comments over at Hoopus was the trade value of Pekovic. It will be interesting to see if they decide to use him in a sign-and-trade or if they keep him. I'd love to see Williams on this squad. Hedo is getting a bit old in the tooth and I think he'll be asking for Lewis-like money.

Re: canis Gameplan for the wolves offseason.
I hate this article simply for the fact that it puts the truly giddy thought of getting ahold of Butler in my head.
Many of these ideas have been mentioned on here before but its nice to have it all bound up in one nice, tidy package. I am starting to think that everything is starting to hinge on their veiws of Miller and wether they do let Carney walk.

Obviously Hedo can shoot, and he's a pretty decent playmaker, but how is he on putting the ball on the floor and getting to the cup? How's his defense? I think that's where Marvin beats him. And yes, his age doesn't match with what we have and need.
I don't like the idea of Gerald Wallace when you combine his age, injury history, and contract. I think it's too big of a risk.
AK is the same concern, but gets paid even more, just a shorter deal.
Butler's contract is beautiful, but that only adds to the already high price it would take to get him and he's even older.
Marvin Williams is where it's at.

Re: canis Gameplan for the wolves offseason.
As much as Im on the Marvin bandwagon, the more I think they will do whatever it takes to keep him or get good value for him. This is where sign and trades come into play, but would we have enough player value to get him? There will probably be a lot of teams competing for his services in a sign and trade deal.
Bibby is who they will let walk if anyone. And....I actually wouldnt mind getting him for a shorter term deal.

I agree with the best possible talent scenario at the end of the article. AK47 + Rubio is certainly the best imo. rubio\foye\ak47\love\al
I wouldn't mind doing some combo of Miller + Mia pick for Gallinari + rose. I would be wary about the 20 year old kid with the broken back. Miller would be a good fit in NYK. Ends up being something like #7 for Miller + 12-16, plus caproom for Williams. Pretty fair value imo. KNicks fans will balk at it, but it makes the team better. It's dumb for the knicks to trade him before he plays much and dumb for any team to trade for him before he plays any ball, but I'm all for aquiring young talent.
I dealing with Atl for williams directly in a s&t or just a midseason trade.

Re: canis Gameplan for the wolves offseason.
Never thought about Miller to the Knicks....thats actually a very interesting and solid idea. He would fit very well on that team and he is one of the few situations I can see us getting back solid value in addition to an expiring.
Who else do they have that we could pry away? Gallinari......dont want him.

I'm encouraged to see more people getting on the "Trade Miller + Cardinal" bandwagon.
I like seeing the depth of anaylsis, with multiple players that could fill the role.
I'd have mentioned the value that trading raw cap space would have, particularly with the likely declining salary cap.

I don't think you'll see the Knicks trading Rose or Marbury. They can get fully under the lux this season if they just let them expire, and they aren't contenders to justify spending double on Miller.

Re: canis Gameplan for the wolves offseason.
suppose we offer Miller/Carney or Miller/McCants for Marvin Williams/Speedy?
gives them a lot of options for both 2009 and 2010. Better than having to choose between Mwill/Bibby and lose one of them for nothing, no?
otherwise Miller/Collins for Ak? or Miller for Wallace? Would I go as far as Miller/Collins for Wallace/Nazr....
one thing I don't look forward to is Miller for expirings on the assumption you're going to end up getting the guy you want. That's spooky
