My league is kind of weird where we don't have a injured spot on our roster, so TMac is kind of hurting me (i'm still in 2nd place though). Should I hang onto him or drop him? Available players would be:

hang on to him. When he comes back he will be fresh and most likely will have a few big games. After that, look to trade him for someone who helps your team out. He has big name trade power.

Since ur in 2nd place, you can afford to wait it out. TMAC in a package could really land you something nice.
