Ash Gives us a C-

Aschburner wrote: Minnesota Timberwolves: They seriously underachieved through their first 19 games, costing Randy Wittman his job, then lost eight in a row under Kevin McHale. The 9-4 stretch since then has been encouraging, a credit to some scruffy opponents but also to McHale's coaching personality, Al Jefferson's relentless low-post play and the improvement of Randy Foye, Kevin Love, Ryan Gomes and Sebastian Telfair. Still, it took one heck of a detour to get there and the Wolves still are behind the pace they expected. Grade: C-

I know Aschburner is a great basketball mind... but seriously, Randy's bad coaching cost him the job, not the players.

Meh, who cares..as an overall grade it seems fair but obviously it doesn't reflect how far our team has come from the beginning of the season. Plus, I think our "expected pace" as they called it was too high. Seriously, we aren't even through our 2nd rebuilding season yet. Can't expect too much because you never know what's going to happen with young, inexperienced players. I'm just happy we're competing now even with better teams. If we keep up with our current play change that C- into a B+ or better for the year.

After listening to Aschburner a few times on Barreiro's show, I'm not sure I'd call him a great any type of mind.

I called in and talked to Aschy and Danny B during draft time last year and spoke about Beasley and Aschburner gave some real general, obvious observations about Beasley like he barely knew who he was.

I should correct myself... Aschburner WAS a great basketball mind.

Like I screamed a few times last year and during the off-season. Aschburner is an idiot. He has some everlasting hatred for the Wolves. He needs to find a new sport. I don't care who he used to write for, all that matters now if he's an idiot working for Sprots Illustrated, and a good number of them are hacks.
