how about steve francis
do the lakers use the vet min to sign him? does he have any game left?
i would give him a try...atleast he would be better than sun yue....and i would consider him over marbury as well

From CBS Sports.com
Francis was listed on 12/3/08 as out indefinitely due to a knee injury.
http://www.cbssports.com/nba/players/playerpage/139064
He has been bought out and waived, 1/27/09.
From ESPN 1/27/09
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3864959
Francis, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound guard, did not appear in a game for Memphis or travel with the Grizzlies, though he did occasionally practice with the team.

He's like a worse version of Marbury, and can't even play anymore. So no thanks.

You know stevie francis might be not the same man he use to be but then again as the saying goes a man rediscover his old self if given a chance to prove it. I understand that he is not doing a thing in Memphis but hey the griz aint a contender unlike the lakers so y not give a shot at francis he might show up the old stevie f minus the ballhogging character....

He is done, with a capital 'D.' One of the great flameouts in recent NBA history.

...IF not the greatest. Remember, he was as superstar as D-Wade for example. Steve "Franchise"

Re: how about steve francis
Yeah, he was a really explosive player back in the day. Not on Wade's level, but something like Baron Davis at his best. He was a threat to get triple-doubles all the time. He almost got a bunch playing against us in the 2004 playoffs, against gp, kobe, shaq, and malone (averaged something like 19 points/8 rebounds/7 assists).
Hell no to getting him now though.

Try him out. What if Fish or Farmar go out in the play-offs. Lakers need a vet guard to handle things. No excuses this year. This is the Lakers year!
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

Marbury is certainly more talented than Francis at this point, but from a chemistry standpoint....
I wouldn't be opposed to seeing how much Francis has left in the tank. It isn't like he'd have to play 30 mpg or anything, but it could be interesting to see what he has left to offer.

Re: how about steve francis
there just arent many decent vet PGs out there that arent egotistical chuckers and/or leaky sieves on defense at the moment
right now, id try my luck with getting farmar to buy into our defensive schemes

Even if he weren't injured why would you want a malcontent like him on your team anyways?
