What do you the best thing to?

Post#1 » by icealucard » Tue Feb 3, 2009 1:07 am

Still the Oklahoma are one of the team that has worst record..,

What do you think they must do, in order for them to be a competetive team in the leage?

1. Trade Players?
2. Fire Coach?
3. or anything else?
Teamwork is the ability to work as a group toward a common vision, even if that vision becomes extremely blurry.

I would have to say "be patient" is the best thing they can do. There aren't any trades (at least of core players) that make sense right now. They could potentially trade some expiring contracts for future assets, but nothing earth-shattering.

Brooks has done a great job as an interim coach, so firing him has to be out of the question during this season. We'll see what happens over the offseason, but right now I'd be fine with keeping him around for at least next year.

We'll definitely make a few draft picks and maybe a free agent signing in the offseason, but I don't even know if much more than that will happen...

PJ's start was terrible. We didn't expect the Thunder to be playoff contenders, but his rotation was crap and the Thunder were set to become the NBA's worst team in history. It was all horrible, so he got fired.

Brooks is doing a hell of a job and is playing the way we expected this team to play. He's playing the right players at the right position and they're competitive in every game. The Thunder are rebuilding, we get that. No need to fire the coach.

I think Durant and Westbrook are as good as untradable. Green, I'd like to keep him around, but if there's a proposal bringing us something special in return at SG, PF or C I think we should think about it, but as far as shopping him, no.

Wilcox and Watson are most likely to get traded soon. Watson is not a good fit and still has one year left after this season, get him out of OKC. Wilcox is an expiring but has so much talent, just isn't getting a chance to show what he can do in OKC.

Wizkid and sonic-ben have said it already. OKC is not in a position to make major changes. Our core is set, we have some expiring contracts, draft picks. We should just enjoy the show and wait till summertime. (although 2010 is going to be more interesting)

We should let the young talent develop, let the excess fluff fade away as their contracts expire, and continue to improve the team through the draft as well as make quality, affordable free agent signings (Krstic, etc). In time, it will all come together.

Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
