What if?Hypothetical Question

Post#1 » by The Magic Man » Sun Feb 22, 2009 5:28 am

you had a chance to get Dwight Howard in a trade to pair up with Kevin Durant, who on the roster would you be willing to give up to aquire him.Would you give up this much to get him

Thunder:Green,Westbrook,2 1rd picks
Magic:Howard

pg:Watson
sg:Weaver
sf:Durant
pf:Collison
c:Howard

That would be a sick combo punch with Durant and Howard. You would have to sign a free-agent in the summer probally a sg.

Would you do that deal if it was offered from Orlando?

I think that if we could get Howard without giving up Durant then we would have to do it. Obviously, we'd do everything we could without giving up Green/Westbrook, but sometimes you've gotta give to get. Ultimately, it doesn't really matter, because I don't see the Magic giving up Dwight (especially willingly) any time soon. :)

I pretty much consider Le Bron and Howard the only two untouchable players in the league. Even more so than Kobe, Durant, Chris Paul, the Big Fundamental, etc. I find it interesting that this is even suggested by a Magic fan.

Anyway, my answer it 100% yes, I would make that deal. No hesitation whatsoever. I would take that lineup, and then use our first pick for draft Rubio (Monroe, Aminu, or Teague if Ricky isn't available) and either Patrick Patterson or Dejuan Blair (or maybe Collison, Maynor, or Flynn at the point) with our second pick. Our lineup would be:

Rubio, Watson
Sefelosha, Weaver
Durant, Mason, Wilkins
Collison, Blair
Howard, Kristic, Swift
from ny, never been a fan of the knicks...

I would trade anyone besides Durant to get Howard
even the coveted Kyle Weaver :D
He is 23 and the best center in the league
They would dominate for years to come

I would rather the lineup look like this though
Weaver/Watson
????(anyone that can hit a 3)/Thabo
Durant/Wilkins
Collison/White
Howard/Kristic

I think the 1st would be on it's way to Orlando from what the OP said

I think if any team could keep their current number one option and use whatever assets they have to land Howard they would.

Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
