OT sort of: Poll on AZCENTRAL

Post#1 » by SUNSARETHEBEST » Wed Feb 25, 2009 5:45 am

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/ar ... gamer.html

In this article if you scroll to side there's a poll titled who would you rather have in a Suns uniform, Richardson and Dudley or Bell and Diaw. Right now only a few hundred people voted and the results are like 57-42 in favor of Bell and Diaw. Just wanted to post this so it would get more votes if some of you guys arn't familar with this website.

Wow, people sure are quick to change their minds. The poll for the trade initially was heavily slanted in Rich/Dudley's favor back in December.

I would take Diaw and Richardson right now.

Only because we need a PF who knows how to play.

i think the poll is only favored the way it is because of the need of Diaw...

i mean no one would say bell and diaw earlier in the season well not diaw but def. no bell, he was mouthing off (in all rights) but he wasnt producing either.

The situation has changed. We need Diaw more than ever because of the hole left by Amare.

i just dont see the point in saying "i wish we had diaw" yes we all do but its over and it is just not possible so why not just move on to players we could potentially sign or something, rather than keep talking about something thats not possible no matter how much we WISH we had him. :-?

A change was needed... but to deal the most versatile big you have, with out replacing him in the deal (or one to follow) clearly has assbitten the front orfice.

I don't miss Bell, and I like JRich...but jeezus...to venture forward from that point on with LouA, Blopez, and Dudley as our bigman bench...??? That was a risky dice roll, that came up aceyducey

hindsight is 20/20, especially after amare goes down with no sight. wow, that was a good one.

lame, sorry about that. it just shows you what kind of fans we have in the valley. They are all wish washy and ban wagon fans. Of course they think the trade is bad now, but try a few months ago and most would say it was a good trade. Doris was a waste of money and was pethetic as a backup. Bell was not listening to the coach and kerr made the right move. Now, I wish we could have got PF back in return but we did not. Doris would be great rigth now but we made our decision and amare and j-rich is a better option then bell and diaw.

That is a really unfair comparison.

To make a correct comparison you have to consider who we traded for who. You cant just leave a player out of the equation because it makes your point.

Amare+JRich
IS IN NO WAY better than
Amare+Diaw+Bell

It was an awful trade. I felt that way then. And I am even more sure of it now.

WE NEED DEFENSE. ALWAYS HAVE. Bell and Marion are very good one on one perimeter defenders. AND bell got 15 pts a game. Diaw was a very good backup PF.

JRich? 15pts a game and nothing else. The trade was bad when we had amare. And its even worse now that we dont have a PF.

Mentioning Marion probably has no point in this thread. But to me that makes the Bell trade even worse, that's the only reason I brought it up. If we still had Marion I wouldnt have minded getting rid of Bell.

But yeah I shouldnt have even brought Marion up, it just confuses my point.
