Not Again - Scoring controversy

Post#1 » by evildallas » Mon Mar 2, 2009 9:14 am

Story Here

You'd think after the trouble and embarrassment caused by our score keepers that the ASG would take to step to insure that we have the best scorekeepers in the league going forward. Unlike last year I don't see how this challenge would have resulted in a replay scenario especially since Cleveland won. Had Atlanta hit the winner at the buzzer though the misinformation that led to Cleveland benching Delonte West for most of the 3rd quarter would have been a big story given the past mistakes of our crew. I won't be surprised if another sizable fine is levied on the team for incompetence anyway.

WOW!

Some heads will HAVE to roll for this. Totally unexcuseable! TOTALLY!

Mike Brown has a legit arguement...although they won....he did bench West thinking he had four fouls. Although, I thought at least the trainer or some asst coach logs fouls, timeouts, etc.

Knowing how stern Stern is.....he may hit us with a $75-100K fine

The real scoring controversy is the fact that LeBron got 3pts for a shot on which his foot was on the line. Most of those plays are reviewed and the replay clearly showed that his foot was on the line. The refs didn't review and in a game in which the Hawks lost by 1pt that was rather unfortunate.

Mike Brown is right. We should replay the game from the point of the mistake.

The report is saying that it was in the second quarter, but West got his technical foul in the first.
He got his real 2nd foul with 1"30 to play in the second quarter, so he might have play 1"30 more if Brown benched him thinking he already had 3 fouls, instead of 2.

He got his 3rd with 3" left in the third quarter, then Brown benched him.
He returned at the beginning of the fourth quarter, and play until the end, even if he got his 4th foul with 10" left. So at this time, Brown knew it.

The amazing thing is that CLE staff dis not realize that at the half ?

I know it's inexcusable, but it's strange.

Remeber, this is on the heals of 2 years ago when you scoring crew happened to subtract 2 points from the Raptors in a close match.

Actually, it comes on the heels of the Cavs being handed a game by the refs.

This was already beyond embarrassing after last season. What a disgrace for something like that to happen again.

Our trainer did log them, and he protested when they charged Delonte with his 4th foul..but they ignored his protest.

Maybe brown should think about thanking the refs on the floor too. Ridiculous some of the no calls for joe and the calls for lebron!! Lebron initiated most of the contact on those calls, give me a break mike brown...

Not to mention you won the game...

WOW! This is "on the heals" of a game 2 years ago when our scorekeepers subtracted 2 points from the Raptors?

Why didn't any Raptor fans bring this up before?! Such insight!
