Yeah, probably a pretty good value.

Absolutely not, the last thing the Jazz need is to put another guaranteed contract on the books. We need to hope the Jazz end up with a good enough record so they end up giving away this years first round pick.

HMM you have to pay Kosta. Swapping the pick for Kosta has no barring on the salary cap.

I think the Jazz would probably do it, a top 10 pick is really valuable. However no team would give the Jazz a 9 pick for Koufos.

I'm being perfectly honest here. You wouldn't even want to pay the ninth pick in this year's draft. Worthless. I'd keep Koufus.

It should. The 9th pick will most likely get paid more than Kosta. I wouldn't do the trade. Kosta is pretty good and there is a good chance whomever we pick with the 9th won't make it.

It depends on who the 9th pick is. It's looking like this draft will be pretty week so probably not.

Re: Question would you take the 9th pick
On the open market, the 9th pick is more than enough for Kosta Koufos.
However, I would not do it. This year's draft is supposedly very weak, true, but more than anything I think the Jazz got a really, really good player that will be no less than a solid starter in the league. And he absolutely has the ability to become a star.
More than anything, though, he is--I believe--a pretty sure bet, a known commodity. Draft picks are too uncertain.
More than anything, I think you look at the draft and say "can I get someone as good as Kosta Koufos at #9"....and I just think the answer to that question is no.
But its a very generous offer, certainly, and most people would make fun of us for turning it down.

Also I'm pretty sure next year when Collins is finally off the books, we're going to need another big man to come in and play a few minutes here and there. Whoever we get with the 9th pick would probably spend a season or so with the Flash while Kosta is ready to step in and contribute.
