mizzoupacers? He was a mod here wasn't he? I never saw that he retired and he hasn't posted here in God knows how long. Anyone know what happened to him? He was one of my favorite posters.

God knows how long? TJFIG, how long has it been?
That was a horrible joke, even for me.

Oh yeah, and I feel like I see him post here and there. I guess I also go to the STL Cardinals board once in a while and I think he still posts there and might be a mod, but I could be thinking of somebody else.
Edit: The Cardinals board is a ghost town. It may be better once the season starts, hopefully. I go to another site to talk Cardinals, but it seems like people on here are a lot nicer and talk sports much more. It may just be that Pacer fans are awesome, I don't know.

He wasn't a Mod on this board, but I believe he's a Mod on the St. Louis board.
I wish he'd come around more as well.

Yes, mizzou was a Mod on the St Louis Cardinals board... I miss him as well... A very knowledgeable fan and could articulate his posts well... And of course he is a Cardinal fan... Which is a big +... Mizzou, if your out there... I will be headed out there this spring to watch the Cards... Not sure of the dates yet... But GO CARDS... And I am absolutely thrilled about what I have been hearing on Big Al...

Maybe I'm thinking of camaleon, but if I remember correctly, I think Mizzou is in either med or law school, so he doesn't have the type of time he used to. Great poster however, and a product of the highly-esteemed "Pacers Board Farm System" for mods.

Re: What happened to...
I believe that he got his "mod-ship" around the same time as count... It seems like most posters here leave after awhile... And I am sure that perusing their careers is just a tad more important than keeping your post count up... I hope that they will return when they are established in their careers... Hoophead, mizzou, Indy, Bits, camaleonm, circlecity, to name a few... I know that there are others, and some that were banned, some like freeron are around still, but I am wishing you all luck and hope to see your avatars around here again some day...

BTW, PR07, is there a place where we as posters are able to go to view older threads than those that are currently here on the Pacer Forum... Like an archive of some sorts... There are a few threads that I would like to go back and find...

Re: What happened to...
I had a friend send me a link to previous RealGM boards. Unfortunately a lot of the old pages are not accessible but if you have patience there are a few pages that still work.
Here's the link:
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://realgm.com
or, probably more useful:
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www ... m.php?f=17
or
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://pacers.realgm.com/
There's also a current one that works for the new boards to search for posters/threads etc:
http://www.google.com/custom?hl=en&clie ... 95um9js0xq

I can't wait for the Card's season. I live in Indy, but like to go to a few games a year. So far I have tickets against the Pirates and Cubs. Pirates tickets were only $25 bucks for all-you-can-eat and drink (homerun inclusive area if you know the stadium well), so my brother and I got that for each other for Christmas. That game is in just a few weeks. The Cubs game is the same but better food and it isn't just beer and wine. Could get ugly with those drinks. I don't remember what section it is, but those were much more expensive. I can't wait.

Re: What happened to...
Thanks for the links fellas...
I am going to ask the big question... What are your feelings on A-rod??
And further more, where would you want to see Chamberlain in the rotation?? Starter, mid-relief, or closer??
Personally, I am happy for A-rod, because he has admitted to it, and not in the way that Jose Conseco did... And b/c of that, he will be judged less harshly in the history of this particular era of Baseball... While he still cheated, and will undoubtedly be judged less favorably, I think what he did was and will be good for the game as it moves past the steroid ere...
And btw... BOOOO YANKEES....

My thoughts on ARod are that there's a lot of talent there whether he took steroids or not. I think steroids have built careers out of guys like Jason Giambi and Jose Conseco, but I still like to believe that with Alex, there is a lot of natural ability there regardless. I don't necessarily think Alex took steroids to gain an advantage, because he probably didn't need it, rather he probably did it because he's a competitor, and it was part of the culture of baseball. If you want to be the best, sometimes, you'll do whatever it takes. That's always been ARod's motivator, to be the greatest of all time.
That being said, I'm glad he admitted his mistake. History has shown the public is more willing to forgive the admitted cheaters: ARod, Pettitte, etc. compared to the deniers: Bonds, Clemens, etc. The Yankees don't need that cloud of controversy hanging over their season, so hopefully, by ARod telling the truth, it will be diminished, but likely not eliminated.
I want to see Joba as a starter. He was drafted as a starter, and while he had a lot of success as a setup man, if you have the potential to be an ace of a staff (which he does), you should try to be a starter. If it fails, the Yanks can put him back in the pen, but as of now, he should be a starter. Not many kids can go into Fenway, pitch 8 innings with 10 strikeouts and 3 hits or whatever it was, like he did last season. Plus, there's this kid the Yankees have in Mark Melancon who has nasty stuff and should get a call-up sometime this season to show what he can do as a set-up guy.

Re: What happened to...
We have yet to see exactly what Rodriguez did. He's already told 2 or 3 different story. The lying, while attempting to appear as if he's genuine and telling the truth, are what's going to burn his ass.
