Week 2 Power Rankings (ESPN)

Post#1 » by evilRyu » Mon Apr 13, 2009 6:30 pm

After the first full week of baseball, ESPN released their Power Rankings. They have the Blue Jays making a huge jump from #21 to #6. Here is a short recap:

1.) Atlanta Braves
2.) Florida Marlins
3.) St. Louis Cardinals
4.) Chicago Cubs
5.) NY Yankees
6.) Toronto Blue Jays

Let's hope they can remain top-10 throughout the season. But sadly even if they do stay in top-10, that still wouldn't be good enough to potentially make the playoffs.

Thanks dude.

I have a problem with the Yankees being 5th. Without ARod or Tex, that team is still very good imo. And their record is against Orioles (probably worst team in AL east) and the Royals (not as bad this year, but still worse competition than Tigers or Indians who the Jays have faced imo).

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

Can't complain, but I do agree with you on the fact that the Yankees shouldn't be fifth for the exact same reason^

yeah i dont know why the Yanks are 5th either... I think it's their reputation that's giving them their high ranking. these are supposed to be weekly rankings too

That is almost always the correct course of action.
