We are on a Pierce-Salmons Collision Course

Post#1 » by Cyclical » Wed Apr 22, 2009 5:58 pm

Fight #1: Rondo-Rose
Fight #2: Allen-Gordon
Fight #3: Pierce-Salmons

3 days rest. They're both due.

Paul just looked tired in the second half of game 2. his legs weren't under him. If we know one thing about the man is that he's a proven playoff performer and always has at least 2-3 great games per series. He's due to explode.

Salmons, who exploded on us in the last regular season Bulls game is now recovered from his groin injury and feeling good. Can't keep a good scorer down for too long. Also, PP, who's been doing a stellar defensive job so far will likely have to expend some more energy on offense.

This is gonna be good.

This series is fun. I've gone from being depressed to relishing the challenge. At this point I'm kinda wishing for a game 7 win in the garden... Hey, I'll take a 5- or 6 game series any day but sometimes you just have to roll with reality, change your expectations and enjoy the experience.

Pierce-Salmons already happened. 37 pts vs. 38 points at the United Center during the regular season.

We've had the SF battle, the SG battle, the PG battle.

It's time for the PF duel and the C duel in games 3 and 4.

lol I think it would ruin this fun series. offensive midgets versus <insert player here>. CANT WAIT :starwars
I would like another Rose Rondo tho. The was the most fun to watch. More exciting than launching non stop threes and sinking every single one :rocking:

I was thinking the same thing. In order for us to go into the United Center and get a win, Pierce is going to have to step up and play his best game thus far. If Paul comes out flat and tired again, it could get ugly quick. The Bulls are really good in the United Center, so i hope we can match their intensity, and win it at the end.

That's what I think too. Salmons vs Pierce.

Salmons won't go off because Pierce is too good a defender. If anything, Pierce should drop bombs on Salmons and eat him up defensively. But they way this series has had 0% defense, I wouldn't be surprised if both go off on each other on the next few games. I wish....

I think Paul is the one who can/will carry us to a road victory on the back of a huge game

If that happens then we'll win. Salmons is good, but he can't handle The Truth.

But he did. Remember the st. Patty's day???

Salmons had 38 points on Pierce (when Salmons was healthy though).

Speaking of collision courses, Deng is almost healed according to the Tribune on the 21st so he maybe back by the end of the series.

Of course I remember. Hell of a game. But the whole point was that IF(KEY WORD)...IF Paul Pierce decides to play some defense, than Salmons will never go off on him. But than, if you search for my post before that, I said there has been 0% defense so far in this series, therefore the chances of a shootout between the two is good. Me as a Celtics fan, I would rather Boston slows the pace down and play defensive basketball...if we can hold Chicago to somewhere between the 90's we probably win. If we go to the 110's we will have a tough time.
