OT- Great Doc Rivers Article

This was a nice read in the local paper talking about Doc and his family

Doc Rivers sets a great example for would-be NBA dads

Doc Rivers was having dinner in Winter Park last September, celebrating a contract extension worth about $5.5 million a year to coach the Boston Celtics. The storied franchise had recently won its record 17th NBA championship, and the first under Rivers.

Life was good.

Then it got better.

Looking to see what the buzz was all about on his cell phone, Doc read a text message that said: "I'm on my way home."

That last word meant everything to Doc.
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

Marc Spears had a very similar article on Boston.com today. Great story all around but we don't need this article to know Doc Rivers is a good guy. I think he's probably been a father figure to a lot of young men who aren't his son biologically.

I have been behind Doc Rivers since day 1. I'm so glad he won last year, I was thinking (before he won it); good things just never happen to good people any more... Great guy, great coach, great father, eternally nice, tough as nails, how can you not love the guy?
