Rockets is a better team than Nuggets. Agree?

Post#1 » by dunleavyjr » Sat May 30, 2009 7:14 am

Nuggets got knocked out by LAL in 6 games, allowing 100+ points per game.
Where was the defense?

Rockets on the other hand were depleted, No Tmac, No Yao, No big men,
and was able to force game 7.

Rockets play the big D, holding the Lakers scores in the 80s and 90s points.
Rockets also did an excellent job keeping Kobe in check.

I feel like the Nuggets are kinda soft. Unlike the Rockets, they don't play
with the heart. I see a better future in the Rockets.

Agreed, I sat watching the game and I was amazed by the lack of Defense, The Nuggets played like they didn't care

Hopefully Chris Andersen and his agent agree with this assessment and he is our new back up center next year.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Birdman is not really a good defender. He is an excellent weak side defender specializing in
shot blocking. He is an undersize 6'9" who isn't strong enough to defend the post. His weakness
was exploited during the matchup with Pau Gasol.

I have more faith in the "Chuck wagon" in defending the paint, though his offense is zero.

Shot blocking, steals and hustle will start our fast break. On the second unit, that would be huge in terms of getting momentum. I do agree though, when yao goes down, the "Bird" man as a starter.....

What are you talking about? Orl matches up perfectly against LA.

Denver looked real bad in this series, Billups got exposed in the conference finals as he does EVERY season, Melo had a poor shooting series, their defense looked poor, and they have some useless player in their rotation that shouldn't be getting minutes in Jones and Carter.

Gasol killed Hayes as much as he did Andersen. He's a special player.

Who would you rather get to replace Mutombo?

Zaza Pachulia?
Mikki Moore?
Rasheed Wallace?
Antonio McDyess?
Jamaal Magloire?
Shelden WIlliams?
Jason Collins?
Chris Wilcox?
Theo Ratliff?
Drew Gooden?
Stromile Swift?

Stromile?? OMG I can't believe you even put his name on there....

I want wallace. that guy is a thug. Imagine him and artest, scola, landry...... damn. Adding another pitbull around yao is a GREAT thing!! If we could get him, it's safe to say, we'd be set.

LOL, I didn't say I wanted Stromile. Sheed would be great but I don't think we can afford him and he might not want to come off the bench.

To be fair, the Lakers were playing better than against the Rockets.

Rockets are the 2nd or maybe first best team if Yao played. Damn those injuries!

sit shouldnt be hard to believe that houston is as good as la when healthy. it is hard to believe that houston can stay healthy. which is why tmac or yao needs to go or both. 5 straight seasons someone has to go.

Houston if they got a young hungry cat for Tmac and Yao ming every stayed healthy would be the team to beat.

But Tmac is worthless to have. He is every bit the talent of a Kobe. But if someone pushes him he smiles and says its all good. If someone does that to Kobe he tries to elbow them in the head.

Return to Houston Rockets
